Vertu Constellation hands-on: A thing money can buy

12 December 2007
You’ve probably wondered what Vertu mobile phones are all about. After all they are absurdly over-priced, extremely under-powered, and many of those look somewhat… ok, let’s say that most people don’t fall in love with them instantly.Well, we certainly...

        To Nirodha,

anyone could afford this phone, so dont think your upper-class or anything for saying you could. alot of people just wouldn't bother to buy it as its clearly not worth the money. but thanks for letting us know you could. your just like the rest of us, just a little more insecure.

you will find phones for 400-500 with way more options and features than Vertu, however Vertu is like Lamborghini. Its eye catching. Of course your Toyota Camry will work for next 20 years but who cares about your Camry.

these phones arent about features so stop talking about features.
              it's about status.

Vertu is a wholly owned, but independently run, subsidiary of Nokia. It has stores in London, Paris, Beverly Hills, Singapore etc. All the mobiles are handmade. As many people would agree, if you want a modern PHONE, then buy a N95, these are only for rich people, who see a phone like this as an equipment which shows how rich they are. But someone who see a phone as something feature packed, would opt for a normal phone.

it looks so ugly i understand the build quality will be good but the style of the phone is terrible it looks like one of the old nokias, the price is over the top so the phone may aswell be aswell, i cant see how anyone could be noticed with that sort of phone, at least the new gresso phone looks OTT

I could afford this. However, I still wouldn't buy it as it's nothing but overpriced, showoff bling. I could select any reasonably priced, feature packed phone I wanted and have someone build me a custom case, for far less money then these Vertu people are asking.

well, this is something similar to swiss handmade watches; not for the masses and all about construction and quality. :) but sorry, i wont pay this money for this... too luxury for me...

"Well if it goes well with the color of your Wiesmann it probably does." lol!

And there's the Concierge service. You need something, anything and they will do it for you. Because, after all, if you can afford a Vertu you're REALLY rich, lol.

its a really ugly phone and expensive....only schezoprenic people will buy it, you can buy a more hitech and functional phone with that stupid price...but its useful for those people want to show-off their richness
