Anonymous, 17 Nov 2020I don't get why Verizon just doesn't market this ... moreWhy? Don't think it's a secret that now VZW and T-Mobile are not offering 5G installed in home. Once sometime gets a taste of mmWave they're not appt to wanting that kind of speed anywhere they can get it? T-Mo doesn't even have mmWave yet but 5G is the future in the publics mind now and there's no turning back for the companies, lucrative call crop... Most 5G afford will be the toner crowd like gamers, youtubers and the hip going out crowd of the big cities where mmWave is installed. Guess like me who are retired, older than 50 and use a phone for pictures, communication, emails, and navigating have no need for 5G because 4G had been working for years. Just an opinion.

Kek, 16 Nov 2020So, basically, 5G mmWave is just a hyped up Wifi connection... moreIt's actually worse, as WiFi signal can penetrate glass, wood, metal, stone and people. mmWave cannot.

      > Notice how the speeds are more consistent with the TCL 10 5G UW than the LG Wing 5G, despite both having the same Snapdragon 765G SoC with Qualcomm X52 5G modem. I could only hypothesize that the 5G antennas were more prone to interference due to the funky, swinging display.

The design of the phone is knocking off 200mbps!? mmWave is too fragile.

I don't get why Verizon just doesn't market this for fixed wireless and bid for more mid range spectrum when available. I imagine they would sign up thousands of new customers in these dense areas and offered 500GB - 1TB data caps.

This could be useful in maybe stadiums as well, but for most people, you'll never hold onto a signal long enough to even use with mmwave.
