DO NOT buy a Moto Edge 40 Pro if you intend to use it very frequently. The battery is absolutely woeful. I use mine for online trading and I have to charge the battery 2 to 3 times a day. It is not just my phone, they are all like that. I do not go out for the day without my charger, especially when travelling. Admittedly the phone charges really fast but the appalling battery life makes the phone unreliable

1) has gorilla victus instead of ... moreI don't agree isocell is inferior than Sony. Depends which model but overall, I tend to prefer those Samsung's. I'm not pro, I just care the result. People venerate pixels stills, and last pixels use mostly isocells, because cheaper, if I'm not wrong.
Omnivisions yes usually inferior from my experiences with moto. It's not it's bad, it's, it has it's flaws, usually getting bad in some direct sunlight if that mean anything.
I think moto uses ov for both price and compact size. To me those proeminent Sony sensors on IP looks just... ugly.
Also about ram I don't think so. I think moto has better ram. AnTuTu and gb performance are better on edge 40 pro than s23 for example, same proc but overclocked on samsung, so could only be better ram.
What I'd worry more about moto is reliability. Chinese components and 120w vs more conservative power and Korean components.
Also those edge borders, I'm not sure, must be used with care no ?
About victus being version +, ++,+1,+2... Does it really matters. I feel more a marketing increment there. I don't see what could change that dramatically on glass technology last year.

Worrying about edges borders and slippery back, is it fragile ?
Daylight main cam is ok, not a surprise with moto and ov sensors. Great selfies and nightshots though.

So far I have had 2 cases and am on my 3rd protective screen. There seems to be an issue with glass adhesive, apparently only on the curved edges, and the case mounting where the case is actively pushing the glass up. Result is the glass falls off after a few days. Because of this, and a phone drop, I now have a cracked screen. The phone is great, love it, the accessories are sub par and need rethought.

I paid £254 in UK with Bose quiet comfort 2 buds thrown in. I bought it for my wife.
Overall I've been pleasantly surprised. The phone is slim and easy to hold, certainly compared to the brick that is my Pixel 6.
I can't comment on battery life for a heavy phone user, but my wife certainly isn't a heavy user. The phone still has 34% battery after 4 days. Now let's put that in perspective, that's with very little screen or call time. It's in a poor signal area with WiFi calling on and Bluetooth on. A multi-day standby time is far more important to my wife than long screen time. I did peg the screen at 60hz and turn off 5g (there is no 5g out in the sticks where we live).
The camera is ok, it's not a patch on my Pixel 6.
Overall, for the price I think it is a solid handset for a user like my wife who just wants a light, cheap phone with minimal bloatware and good standby life and the option to take reasonable snaps.
She really won't care about major OS patches so long as security patches come out as promised.
My guess is that the battery benchmarks above are flawed but not interested enough to try and find out as day-to-day the battery is fine for my wife's phone usage profile.

I have a certain question regarding automatic refresh rate. I want to know if swiping around will always stay at 120hz and when not swiping around if it will dial down to 60hz no matter the brightness setting. I also want to know if there's any flicker when it switches from 120hz to 60hz. Since i own edge 30 ultra anything below 20% brightness it will be stuck at 90hz and I can notice that it flickers for a second when it dials from 120hz to 60hz and vice versa.

Victus without some protection Is garbage.I scratch mine screen for two days of using telephone.now I give 30 euros for some protection becouse Motorola nothing give in package

1.does the curved screen has any practical/actual use?
2.is the phone good to hold and use? i mean when holding the phone around edges its gives input and the rest of the touch doesn't seems to work due that(annoying curved screen problem)
3.reffer a good protective case.

Does anyone know if the Multi-volume feature allows playing two sound sources at once? My Edge from 2020 could do that until it went to A12.

The screen supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+ but sadly for Widevine DRM the phone only has L3 security level, which then results in Standard Definition playback on Netflix and Prime Video without HDR. The result is that, in addition to not being able to see at maximum resolution, Dolby Vision content and HDR10+ streaming services are therefore not activated. It is reasonable to expect an update from Motorola soon.

3 OS is a lie . My Edge 30 ultra is yet running android 12... And they don't give us any dates.... Edge 30 ultra was launched in September 2022
So new buyers beware of moto false promises..
