Is it a flat or curved display

kevvv, 26 May 2023Basically it's pointless to have a screen above 1080p ... moreIt's more about pixel density than resolution. For LCD/IPS smartphone screen minimal decent density is 300 ppi - enough to not seeing individual pixels from 50cm (iirc). OLED screens for smartphones are usually built in PenTile formation - resolution counts by green subpixels, but their number is the same as red and blue ones combined. Thus totally such screen has 2/3 of the subpixels number of an LCD screen with same resolution. Dividing 300 ppi by 2/3 gives us 450 ppi - minimal decent density for OLED smartphone screens.

kevvv, 26 May 2023Basically it's pointless to have a screen above 1080p ... moreAnything over 1080p consume more power and overheat easily unless you have an LTPO screen like samsung flagships or iPhone.

This feature is only useful for some games and streaming services like Netflix. Even though you will barely see any differences if you look at your phone at a normal distance, except if you try to see your phone closer like 15cm from your eyes, which is actually bad for your eyes.

Stellaris, 25 May 2023Would lowering the resolution to 1080p improve the battery?... moreIf lowering the refresh rate can improve the battery life, then I'm sure that lowering the screen resolution also can improve the battery life.

I think it's a great phone for the price

only problem is the resolution is bad ( 20:09 )

I was thinking of buying this phone, but reading this review changed my mind. I'll go for the base F5, it's better phone. Thanks to Gsarena for review

Anonymous, 25 May 2023Which is better for at least 2 years? F5 pro or 12t pro, I ... moreYou'd better choose 12t pro, just in case you can't make your decision after 2 years, it can last one more year. It got better specs too.

Nicolas F, 25 May 2023Not necessarily. Also, buying a phone with higher screen re... more'Not necessarily' bro what?

Stellaris, 25 May 2023Would lowering the resolution to 1080p improve the battery?... moreNot necessarily. Also, buying a phone with higher screen resolution and then lowering the resolution looks kinda pointless.

Stellaris, 25 May 2023Would lowering the resolution to 1080p improve the battery?... moreYup, it will

"Take the Samsung Galaxy S22, for example. It's a capable flagship from last year, with Samsung promising 4 years of major updates and 5 years of security patches, so it will stay relevant for a long time. It's a better photographer, has a comparable screen and better speakers. The flagship OneUI iteration is also better and more feature-rich than MIUI for Poco. And you get all that for around €50 less than the F5 Pro."

So basically the Poco F5 Pro makes no sense at this price point, unless you are a die-hard Samsung hater (and even then, OnePlus 10T exists). Why does it have 4.1* rating then? The review is good but the ratings are weird.

Would lowering the resolution to 1080p improve the battery? I read in another review that you have the option of lowering the screen resolution to FHD.
