The reason you don't see a lot of phones with Snapdragon 7+ gen 2, and why Samsung won't be using it, is because they are really 8+ gen 1 that didn't make the speed bin grade. To get the improved performance on the 8+ gen 1 Qualcomm likely had to reject a lot of chips that weren't quite good enough. They ended up with a big stock of these, which they've shifted by under-clocking them and calling them 7+ gen 1.

But only a limited supply would be available; they're not going to make any more.

People think of the GSMArena unit fault, if you have watched Nick Ackerman channel he also experienced this laggy and choppy on the A53 which is also an Exynos. Samsung hasn't been able to fix this on the A54 either.

From here you know, there is no way if this phone will last 2 years or will be more laggy with updates. And the logic of Samsung users will think about changing to a new phone every year because it is already laggy.

Don't know what people expected from this smh. Samsung can always surprise everyone by putting out a proper well-rounded midranger like they did before but I suppose that's not happening soon.

I'm not so sure about that

One of the worst A5x model to date. Heavy, bulky, large bezel with smaller screen, choppy for basic UI interaction. If you want a Samsung midrange, get the S21FE instead. You get flagship chip and proper triple cameras. If you’re on a budget, get the A34 instead for less and better UI performance.

Samsung Galaxy A54 is the best selling Samsung phone and has a 4.7 star rating on Amazon. What does that say about this review ?

GSMarena reviewing both A52s and A54: They are smooth

But in long-term review: They are laggy

Kinda harsh review. Honestly, I feel this one is overrated. There are better options at lower prices, even its sibling A34 is a better deal. A far cry from what the A52s was and still is.

MakeMotoBetterAgain, 01 Dec 2023samsung should make a a54s with SD 7+ gen 2, a true success... moreAlongside that, they should make a Samsung xCover 7 Pro, which also has the QC 7g2+ chipset, updated cameras, durable, IP68, and User Removable Battery.

I would buy it on pre-sale, and recommend it to all my friends.

Ouch this caught a bit of a mauling. Hadn't realised the chipset friend such choppy performance. I wonder if the Mediatek A34 is smoother. Definitely agree that a SD 7 plus for that price would make it formidable.

samsung should make a a54s with SD 7+ gen 2, a true successor to the A52s.

Wow, right time when I was just thinking of getting this

Mills, 01 Dec 2023This phone is far from choppy. Microstutters can happen but... more"...a large 5,000 mAh battery with 25W charging, a 50MP OIS-enabled main, 12MP ultrawide and 5MP macro camera setup and a decent Exynos 1380 chipset, though not as powerful as the Dimensity 8050 inside the Camon 20 Premier..." Even called it decent, yet calling the phone choppy and lagging.

A decent chipset will not be lagging and chopping

People also bash the phone for the Exynos chipset.

If you gave a GSMArena user a Snapdragon 778G phone, they'll say it's decent or cool.
If you hand then the same chipset but call it "Exynos 7780", people will bash the phone, even if the chipset does just like the 778G, temps and all!

Y'all really bashed this phone to the maximum.. It's great for its current price which is like 300€ in my country, you can't find a better deal right now.
The phone works totally fine, at least in my family.
I also wouldn't call it the laggiest and chopiest phone in the past 2 years. I guess your unit isn't good then.

GSMArena Team shitting on the phone's performance and fingerprint sensor then proceeds to call it a "good phone":

I don't understand these types of reviews. Is the A54 a good phone (to me)? Generally yes, and the chipset isn't the phones best feature at all but at least try not to be wishy washy about it. It's like saying one of the core aspects of a house is bad but calling the house all by itself good/great

                                        How to fix samsung UI

                                        - get rid of own store, put apps on google play.
                                        - forbid services like Pay to be in background when not used.
                                        - change the icons to design that seems made by an adult, current icons are infantile.
                                        - change cam UI to not remind of iphone's.
