Anonymous, 06 Mar 2024The most ugly phone I've ever seen. ErrI believe the iphone series is the worse offender in the design department. Like a dropout designing a phone.

"There's also a case included - one that is about as cheap-looking as the phone itself is premium. We'd only resort to using it in very dire circumstances where something, anything, must be done to protect the Find."

No offense but that's a horrible opinion. Firstly, I own the X7 Ultra myself and it's a really good looking and good quality case. Way nicer than the usual cheap gel cases that some other manufacturers include, and on top of that it the colour of the case matches the colour of the phone. Secondly, it's rare for phone manufacturers to even include a case at all these days. Why write negatively about it?

Swedens Hasselblad you can't get any better camera feels awkward here when the rest doesn't match

Anonymous, 06 Mar 2024The most ugly phone I've ever seen. ErrYou haven't seen many phones then.

Anonymous, 06 Mar 2024The most ugly phone I've ever seen. ErrGarbage opinion of yours then. Regardless of how you view this phone, though, there are plenty of bad examples out there that are far worse than this one. The OnePlus 11 looked terrible, as did the OnePlus 10; some of the lower-range Huawei phones look downright ugly, as do some of the flagships; the Honor 100 looks ugly, as does the Honor Magic 5 Ultimate and the rest of the 5 series, and basically every Honor Magic x Lite phone; the Realme GT5 Pro is ugly as hell; the Nothing Phone 2a is one ugly duckling (even if I actually somewhat like its ugliness I guess?); and hell, even in Oppo's own camp, you have a much better example with the Oppo Find X5 series.

You might find this phone extremely ugly, and you're entitled to your braindead opinion, but there are many phones that are actually really ugly that you should look into first regardless which are objectively worse than this one.

The S21 Ultra did it good with the camera island with all cameras flush, it's nice to touch those islands and the centered ones too but not separate ones. The Oneplus 8 Pro was like this with sharp edges and it was annoying to hold too, not to mention the insane amount of dust around the island, a huge pain to clean.

Why should people whine about GSM not making those reviews and not move on to some other site? You're just defending lazy practices. So you're saying those phones got proper reviews eh? Well the S24 series didn't even get the photos in the photo compare tool, what's your justification there? "Oh just go to some other site, grow a pair", gonna say something like that right?

Jagganatha, 06 Mar 2024“It wasnt exactly pin-sharp in good light either…” really ... moreUW needs one type inch sensor.

“It wasnt exactly pin-sharp in good light either…” really damns the new 12mm Ultrawide, and thus the whole phone for me. If there is one lens that has to be pin-sharp and produce detailed noise-free results, its the ultrawide on a phone. And as 12.5 MP is nowhere near big enough and detailed enough an image size for a 12mm lens, I suppose that they thought they could get away with it, but can they? I do not think so.

NeonHD, 06 Mar 2024In no way this is a 2015 thing, lol.You are right. Galaxy S4 Zoom is actually from 2013

Even though the Find X7 Ultra will not be available outside the Chinese market, it is nonetheless very interesting to see the technological developments and advancements that are obviously possible and that big players like Apple or Samsung (and others) are withholding from the consumers because they don't want to make the perfect camera phone for their users, but just a phone that is only marginally better than its predecessor from previous year - of course charging the full price.

Software screenshots we miss that 🙏🏿

Anonymous, 06 Mar 2024Is the large circular camera island a Chinese thing? Seems... moreIf you hold the circular camera designed phone, there are more advantages than disadvantages over the regular triangle designed or the spider eye designed like Apple and Samsung.

And the more popular they are the more attention they are going to get from reviewers. That is expected.

People are whining about the review and how long it took to publish etc.
The reviewers have to keep up with the rest of the review world and do proper reviews on trending devices and publish them on time.

There could be many reasons why this review is different from the rest. Time available to review the device before they have to send it back etc. Some omissions could be because of that, or maybe the supplier didn't want them to publish it. We will never know.

The bottom line is, that you got a decent review on a less popular phone, that is difficult to get outside China. If you don't like it, go find more reviews and read up elsewhere.
Stop whining over every little detail. Grow a pair and move on.

The most ugly phone I've ever seen. Err

jiyen235, 06 Mar 2024Bruh they didn't even dive into any nitty gritty stuff... moreYeah, filters are actually a very important part of photography. As someone who shoots with a Fujifilm camera, I basically use their film simulation filters all the time. I mean, they don't really give you a choice not to lol, as it's baked right into the camera.

I've now come to realize that every camera has their own "filter" in some way, as in the way it renders colors. The default 'filter' on Canon cameras always emphasizes a warm reddish tone on skin. Even though Fujifilm cameras are all about its film simulations, I've noticed that shots come out more natural looking than a similar Sony mirrorless camera.

One of the things I like about Fujifilm cams is the lack of a lowpass filter, so no anti-aliasing, which means sharper images. I wonder if these smartphone camera sensors come with an anti-aliasing filter. If so, the possibility of a no-AA IMX989/LYT-900 sensor would excite me. Or, if the anti-aliasing is software-based, add a camera setting to turn it off or adjust its intensity. Of course, this is just the camera enthusiast within me talking, I don't really know how much people have considered this aspect before in a smartphone camera.

Anonymous, 06 Mar 2024Is the large circular camera island a Chinese thing? Seems... moreIn no way this is a 2015 thing, lol.

Essentially, you could summarize and say this phone has a 14-135mm f/1.8-4.3 lens.

I love that smartphone cameras are becoming more like actual cameras, especially with these one inch sensors. For perspective, the Sony RX-100 also has a one inch sensor.
