The S23 FE is a great phone. Anyone who's bashing it has never used one.

Video recording on the A54 is really bad, with video stabilization only enabled at 1080p@30fps and grayed out beyond that.

Anonymous, 31 Mar 2024but those who write that their mobile phones takes good pho... morefor person that just for view photos on their phones or uploading to social media, today smartphone camera quality is good enough, sufficient

one most important things for most people is "convenient"
snap a picture the go straight upload/share to whatever we want

such that, not always as straight away with real camera, beside also mean carrying extra-device which is not everyone want

and often those "moments" not even that important that needing captured in great quality afterall

if you think smartphone camera is completely trash, its your opinion and thats just fine, but saying people need real-camera to take photo is just nonsense

Anonymous, 31 Mar 2024but those who write that their mobile phones takes good pho... moreWow, greetings and respect. 💯 It must have been years since someone actually mention real photo cameras here.

Me, as owner of Olympus camera and a bit of an avid photographer since.., say, 2010's am constantly dissatisfied with mobile photography and it's approaches to image rendering on the whole. I just can't get used to absolutely artificial and overprocessed looks of mobile photos, all of them.

Once a person would manually process an photo from raw, you just can't go back to that "plastic" mobile jpgs anymore.

Am striving to more natural looks of photos, actually. But it's barely achievable on phones, although hardware is decently good for that. Even OpenCamera, which i use does not give fully natural and professional looks, not mentioning it's ui.

I still love to look through all of my old photos, shot in raw maybe a decade ago, and they look marvellous even today, unlike mobile ones.

but those who write that their mobile phones takes good photos, have you ever used modern real cameras (Sony, Nikon, Canon or Om Systems) ?
you are satisfied with absolute nothingness

magnaroader, 31 Mar 2024Considering the flagship cameras and DEX support, I'd ... moreThe S23 FE uses the same main and Ultrawide sensors as the A54, but swaps out the 5MP Macro for an 8MP Telephoto lens.

The difference in picture quality between the two phones mostly depends on the better ISP in the Exynos 2200 / Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset on the FE.

Of course, it's better at zoom, thanks to the physical Telephoto lens, but in normal 1X shots, the A54's pictures are going to look very similar to the FE's shots, even with the ISP disadvantage.

One would hardly call that kind of camera setup a "flagship" one.

I do agree that the F5 having USB3 support is a nice addition, though.

It's because of people like you that Samsung can keep making garbage value phones and still stay on top.

Tiramisu, 30 Mar 2024Not worth the current price as it comes too close to the S2... moreThe S23 FE is just the A54 with a more powerful chipset and an aluminium frame.

At this price point, the Xiaomi 13T is definitely the best value option.

Not worth the current price as it comes too close to the S23 FE and costs more than the S21 FE.
It needs a major price drop ASAP

hArDtOsAy, 30 Mar 2024A55 -> tf card slot. Nothing Phone (2a) -> Nothing O... more2a is barely competition lol. 99% of people have never heard of them as there phones are hideous. Can't see a 40 year old mother of 2 picking that over an a55 ever

Probably nice, if you specifically want a Samsung mid-range mobile, with an sd-card/sim-card slot. Otherwise, I'll stick to something similar, e.g. a Motorola Edge 40, which offers better value, and more built-in memory (256 gb vs 128 gb) for less money.

                                        A55 -> tf card slot.
Nothing Phone (2a) -> Nothing OS.
Exynos 1480 and Dimensity 7200 Pro it is very similar.

If Samsung supports this phone long enough and cheaper than its competitor, will hit the box.
