                Try this it might help...
goto settings ->wireless control -> wifi setting -> click on wifi so as to get a check mark...

after that click on add wifi network...
fill details for Network SSID, security type and password...
and that will do the trick...

do remember security type should be correct else u wont be able to connect to ur wifi..

and u can also try going to advanced settings while ur in wifi settings...and then goto wifi sleep policy - never
do make sure ur not in airplane mode ...

one more thing ...try checking ur wifi router settings if its not MAC enabled..coz at times ur service provider locks ur wifi to particular machines for security purpose...

honeslty havent heard anyone having an issue with wifi on xperia x10...

I Purchased an X10 couple of days ago n i was really excited with all the things it allowed you to do n it's specs, but i started encountering problems with the phone's wi-fi from the get go. it refuses to connect to any network (tried 4 so far)or even aknowledge the existence of a network. i have contacted SE multiple times n all they seem to do is tell me to update the software (i've done 5 updates in 4 days) which results in my phone memory being constantly wiped clean. i don't know if anybody else has a similar problem with their phone's wi-fi, but i find it unexcusable 4 600euro state of the art phone to have such a problem, which is made worst by SE not having an answer or a solution 4 this n further still i'm not aware of any other android phones on the market which have wi-fi connection problems. I am a loyal SE customer (have been 4 many years), but after my experience with X10 n SE's customer service, i'm begining to think about switching to a more reliable company. Pure show SE!

Former SE owner =;(, 18 May 2010Update: Sony Ericsson have officially confirmed that multi-... moreAdmit it, u don't have the money to buy it :)
if u did u wouldn't be here in this forum.
Xperia X10 is the best phone out there.
I have and Iphone , it cant do multitasking, camera quality is pathetic, cant transfer files via bluetooth...and so many more ...why dont people complain about it ...when u use Xperia X10 u will know the difference even if the OS is outdated but the custom UI and timescape/mediascape is in par with 2.0...
to everyone who said they regret buying it ...here is the thing, im sure u came to this forum and many other before purchasing it and knew exactly what u were buying and u chose Xperia X10 over Nexus,Iphone and many other ..so stop cribbing ...or else we have to believe u dont own one and just crying coz u bought an Iphone instead of Xperia X10 :)

                      Hi Guys,

Yeah seems the forum is dead.....

Let me share few important points of X10 which may help you to think about it in

better way…I will be mentioning problems and their appropriate solutions to fix them:

à Battery Life – Major problem??? Not really.. I used to face this problem but its not a majot problem though. Multitasking ability of xperia is so smooth that you dnt come to know about number of apps running in parallel. Here are the apps available in market that will help you to solve this issue.

-Power Save Mode – I dntknow wht it does but trust me switched it on and ur battery last for few hrs more..

                      - Advanced Task Manager – It prevents unnecessary apps from staring up when uboot the phone. Also you can browse for apps running in background so u can kill them.

                      - Advanced task Killer / Task Killer – Awesome app… just click the widget and all the apps get killed at one go.. Exclude list works pretty well… U can set the option of killing all unnecessary apps when u locked the phone..

It’s logical ..more the apps running.. more is the Processor and Ram Processing and ofcourse more is the battery consumption…Killing the apps is most practical way of saving the battery.

Rest all the options like brightness, 3G, facebook connectivity depends on User….

à Act 1 Video Player – Play the videos in full Aspect ratio (Full Screen)

à Freedi Youtube Downloader – Download videos of HQ directly on mobile.

                      à MP3 Download – Search and download songs..works gr8..

àZedge à Awesome Wallpapers and Ringtones Collection

à Astro Player Beta à Music Player with custom equalizer option….

àAudio Player with EQ – Mp3 player with equalizer Presets.. Only downside is demo version doesn’t play next song automatically..

Guys Android is a gr8 open source platform for customize applications…Its started after Apple has already captured major market…. But if you look at most of the major Mobile Brands like SONY, HTC,MOTOROLA,SAMSUNG,ACER etc… have already known the importance of this platform and they are using to boost their sales with the help of Android….

Please let me know if any additional information is needed to be known. Thanks.

                      Regards,

                      -Akki-

However, this is not exclusive to X10... infact most smart phones are like that, and its really annoying. Software updates should NOT need to go thru the carriers.

You're right, Nexus One will gaurantee quickest update since google obviously favors its own product.

But I believe x10 is still the superior phone for me -- no matter how much 'faster' the new software is, in reality Nexus One will never hv the same screen size, or as good of a camera as X10. Not to mention the gorgeous design. Nexus One is kinda ugly... no software update is going to fix that.

After 3 weeks of X10, I guess I have enough of it.
Android 1.6 is very limiting as you get the feel that you are using windows 95 when windows 7 is out (I'm exaggerating but this really brings out how I feel)

Now that we know Android 2.2 Froyo is out, I'm feeling very desperate to get it. But since the rom for X10 is not out yet, I guess I will have no chance but to rely on them for an 2.2 update - which would take at least half a year or so
( for a stable rom, that is )

And the android update is not the only problem, it's the firmware update too. If you are not from UK, US, HK or Japan, it is very difficult for you to get a firmware update. Having to live in Singapore, I find myself getting the update almost impossible. You really feel behind time. The firmware update kind of fix the battery problem and I would love to have that. And why waste time trying to debrand your phone and root your phone if there is a phone that gurantees your update at an immediate pace?

So morale of the story, I prefer phones that are guranteed to get an update at a rate almost immediate like the Nexus One - although Singaporeans get them at a much slower rate. I would love to have the Nexus one but due to its hardware problems, X10 is more superior. Verily, software boast more importance for me. So I can only just wait for a better phone in future (:

Evry phone has pros and cons but this phone has biggest problem or flaw is Mic and Ear Volume.Mic is on the left hand side and other caller doesnt hear properly and ear volume is too low.I think SE forget that this is mobile.
