15 November 2010
With a large high-res screen, a Snapdragon CPU and ample amount of RAM the XPERIA X10 is nothing short of the top-end Android smartphones currently on the market. However its outdated Android OS...

It's really a pity that they changed the unlock means...!
but go the review it says:
"Still it’s nothing that a lockscreen customization app won’t fix"
Does anyone know how I can get this app!?

Would appreciate it a lot! (^_^)

Anyone faced the following problems after update to 2.1?
      1. Home screen sometime appear blank. Need to swipe to left/right then it come back.
      2. Mediascape sometime appear blank when launch.
      3. Contact missing after you update something on it.

well we cant see the arc to unlock but we can unlock with an imaginary arc , just swipe your finger as before drawing an arc and unlock your x10.... its more natural move and still works but not eyecandy

To input Chinese, simply press and hold the chat screen during sms and select language to Chinese. Vice versa to switch back.

Your right theres no difference to be seen on such a crappy screen display, heck even on the SGS theres ZERO difference between 65k and 16m.. simply put that the display device and the media cant show any difference at all.

update or no update i still think this phone is great. it's like one of the most sexiest android phone ever! and i seriously digg the user interface of this thing especially for multi-media. it's looks really slick! and as far as the camera goes, this is still the best one in the android world. but the lack of multi-touch is a huge drawback for me. I'm definitely looking forward to Sony Ericsson's next big phone! they make the best designs with awesome ui's ever. and the best part is they don't try to imitate the 'iphone'.

Tried the X10 many moons ago and once bitten twice shy. The update only applies a sticking plaster to an overall poorly designed handset. If they had come out with multi touch and 2.2 I may have paid attention but no. The smartphone world has moved on and sadly and I mean that the X10 has been left trailing in it's wake. The proposed X12 may offer a more modern take but I would not hold my breath.

The 2.1 update has made the phone 1000% better, but Sony Ericsson need to work on improving their home launcher - It's utterly useless. They also need to do something about a few stupid apps which launch by themselves and chomp away at the cpu - hint. Face recognition. Mediascape and timescape are the most useless apps ever, get rid of them or at least have them not launch all the time in the background.
Overall very happy with the update though, and battery on standby is ridiculously good. 2% drain overnight/6 hours with the phone updating weather/twitter/facebook every hour over wifi.
I was getting very bitter towards S.E but they seem to be listening and improving so I anxiously await the X12 and will definitely upgrade when it's out if it has Multi-Touch.

All well said - this phone is not for all the others fools but as said by GSMArena.com "So as a result you get a device that won’t give you bragging rights but will give you all that it promises and throw in a few nice surprises on top (particularly for video enthusiasts and social network lovers). Sounds like a package that’s good enough for us."

                                      Everything is in people's heads.
you won't notice a big difference between 65K colors or 16m, so that you can cry all day long.
People just want to hear that they have a bigger number of OS. I prefer android 2.1 with timescape and mediascape rather than knowing that I have a 2.2.
And not to forget that we are talking about the sexiest design (especially the white).
