HTC Incredible S review: Smart and curvy

22 March 2011
The unfortunate naming aside (seriously, didn’t anyone say it out loud before they announced it?), the Incredible S is a pretty great smartphone. You’ve got spotless connectivity, an exciting new screen, those cool rotating buttons and...

A free tip for GSM Arena reviewers. Try using a faster card before making conclusions about the camera quality. The DHD had the same issues when used with Samsung's class 2 crappy card. With class 10 card framerate is flawless even in low light.
And how come all your quadrant scores are far worse than real-life ones?!? Please share how can you get 1647 on the Inredible S when I get 1900+ on my DHD (essentialy the same hardware) on stock ROM and with virtualy no tweaking! After slight overclocking (1.2GHz) and a custom ROM, it matches your LG Optimus 2X score. And when autofocus is turned on, there is no logic in being able to focus using a button - once it's turned off you can touch anywhere on the screen to focus on that point. It's how they did it on the DHD, it's how I bet it is done on the IS. It's good to see that HTC adjusted the default sharpening (I suppose you didn't bother to do this yourselves) to a more reasonable level. Hopefully they will do it for the DHD too when the next major update (2.3) hits us in June.

HTC are worst looking phones. Unappetizing design is enough for me not consider one buying.

htc really can't do a phone with a decent camera and good audio quality.
Incredible s sucks at these chapters, and looks like all those boring htc devices

Yeah, HTC is not very good on cameras and mainly video-recording, just like Motorola.

HTC is really not into stills and video. That is why even if they put an 8mp snapper in there...it's still mediocre.

Nice phone but it does little more than my dual boot, WM6.5/FroYo HD2 already does. Shame this doesn't have a dual core processor to give it some limited longevity

Typical HTC, hardware and software is good but then it fails in multimedia, how many years is it going to take for them to get this together? This is why I have owned a major phone from all brands but HTC tehy can never get the cam and video right and there audio quality normally sucks
