Danish, 09 Jan 2012skype application running in nokia asha303 or notThis my question also. My understanding is that Skype will not work on S40, therefore it will not work on this mobile. Please correct me if I am wrong. This is the only reason for me not buying this mobile as I do want to use Skype.

I must say hat I wasn't expecting this much love...
I was always under the impression that touch & type interfaces can't perform quite right (especially on Nokia). I read about a ton of problems with the previous Nokia touch&type phones. I guess they sorted them out in the new Asha Series.

you missed the VoIP call support that works over WiFi and 3G and is pre-installed. pretty nice when you want cheap/free calling :)

I would buy to be a secondary phone if the price is reasonable. But seriously, this 1GHZ CPU has no use on this phone, it's the worst market gimmick I've ever seen. And the UI is really ugly...

I'm kind of wondering about the 1Ghz processor in Nokia's latest featurephones though...
At the bottom of Page 3 (User Interface), it's mentioned that the UI feels choppy even with the 1Ghz processor.
I wonder if the 1Ghz models drain battery faster than the previous models? If so, it might be worth sticking with some of the earlier models...

what happened to quality materials nokia? I do not and have never wanted a plastic bodies phone. S40 used to be the cornerstone of fashion phones. Nokia you have abandoned this market segment and tried to shove constantly rebooting "smart phone" operating system down you customers throat.
what happened to simple good looking phone that just works?

Not everyone wants an Android mobile where simplicity and quality is all that is needed. I like the idea of covering the all the normal 3.5G frequencies as that is important for many and does increase market coverage. Solid performance is all that is needed, not mind wasting time pushing widgets around a screen.

About the alternative phones, I think the SonyEricsson Txt and Txt Pro are more of a match to it than the X10 Mini Pro. It would be interesting to know how to these fare against the Asha.
