14 December 2012
With the Nokia Lumia 820 locked up under AT&T exclusivity, the Finnish manufacturer had to resort to rebranding tactics in order to bring its capable mid-range Windows Phone 8 product to other carriers. Such is the case with the Nokia Lumia 810...

It's better be bloody cheap. Something like Lumia 610 price. Our store managed to sell only 2 Lumia so far when we sold plenty of iphone 5.

I understand there are those who like it - mainly, I think, because they haven't held a Windows Phone - but I don't have an agenda to convert people to WP.

Saying "avoid" means you have a clear agenda as a fanboy, and that you are threatened that people might actually like what you are asking them to avoid.

still no support for native video calling?
even my good old Nokia N95 support the features.
this phone is worst than Symbian phones.

                              Inspired with iPhone 4 design.
The design on its back cover makes the phone degraded from having the overall "WOW" factor. If you guys are aware of the upcoming BlackBerry L-Series, you can see how they redesigned the whole look of their old BlackBerry Touch phones.

I too love the colour choices/ removable covers of the 820, but 40 hours battery (going by the GSM test) isn't enough for me as a heavy user, as I wouldn't get through a day on one charge. However, if there is ne thing to realise about the many and various opinions about smart phones today, its that they all have their strengths and weaknesses, and I totally agree that if I could deal with the battery life the 820 would be a great choice, although on balance I still think I'd prefer the 810!

AnonD-81714, 14 Dec 2012nokia dont make their phones anymore. They are made in Asia.My first Nokia phone (a 6230) was made in China and it gave me no problems in 2 years. I sold it while still working perfectly, so what's your point?? Nokia has factories all around the world, most manufacturers have found production costs are far lower in Asian countries. As far as I know Nokia has factories in China and Korea as well, so current devices are still made by Nokia.

AnonD-89415, 14 Dec 2012T-Mob should bring this to Europe also - better battery lif... moreYou're right about the battery, but the Lumia 820 has scratch resistant glass too (just like the upcoming Lumia 620). Corning Gorilla Glass is just a brand, there are several scratch resistant glass manufacturers among the world, just ask the Sony and iPhone users who doesn't have Gorilla Glass at all.
Considering I wouldn't mind charging my phone every 1.5 days I would prefer the extra color choices and overall better appearance the Lumia 820 has over the 810. Just my two cents
