LG Optimus L9 review: Living large

04 January 2013
The Optimus L9 is the latest addition to the L-series and rightfully takes charge of a lineup that's known for attractive styling and wallet-friendly prices. It obviously made no sense to LG to start from scratch and the L9 is happily reusing bits and parts from nearly all of its fairly recent smartphone siblings...

Its the best phone in the midrange class of phones, its purely best value for money. I have been waiting for the official review from gsmarena , i am fully satisfied by it , price in india for this phone is Rs .1800/- . I am going to buy it today itself.

Value for money is one of the reason why i'll have one for this model, i heard it will be php14,990 only in Philippines. Camera will be 8mp as what i saw in banners displayed in the mall this afternoon. Can't wait to have one...

I'm using this phone for a week now.

Pretty solid performance, also the camera is not as bad as mentioned (maybe buy yourself a proper camera if you want to make "quality" photos). Try camera apps (I have camera zoom fx - remarkable difference in picture quality in compare to standard app)

Battery lasts for a day. I would expect it to last for two days when I stop playing with it so much.

No problems with connectivity, finds wireless network and bluetooth connections very fast.

BUT... it is impossible to save apps on external memory card. At least without rooting, as I am told. So consider if 2,3 GB of free space for apps is enough for you. Street fighter IV takes 1,4 Gb :)

it is so adamant of LG to abandon even flagship models like 4X hd

                          its a shame

unless of course they push 4.2 of the current nexus 4 across all models

The biggest drawbacks in this phone is no jelly bean update which is all time problem with all lg phones. (Updation) and 2nd is low internel memory 4gb only. Which does nt make any sence when they giving phones in 20000 rs. Price range..........

After kicking so many asses on its first day at job Galaxy S2 still have the mighy power to even kick this 2013 review model. Such a phone the S2 is. To put it in perspective the Sensation trio is almost non-existant in every way. Good screen good performance wide support of both Xda and samsung itself no wonder it is such a great phone.

i bet this L9 doesn't support native video call just like the rest of L-series.
it looks like the Galaxy series are the only Android phones that still support native video call.
