HTC One hands-on: First look

19 February 2013
Going by sales in the past year alone, it's easy to forget that HTC still makes some of the best hardware in the smartphone game. Despite the fact that it was the first to release a smartphone with a dual-core Krait chipset, the first to launch a...

romil, 21 Feb 2013What is the 4mp ultrapixel in htc one mean? http://www.imaging-resource.co...ity -over-res

" Instead of a full-color sensor, the HTC One differentiates itself with a 1/3-inch type BSI CMOS image sensor that's almost 12% larger than the 1/3.2-inch type of the preceding One X and One X+ in terms of surface area. In an attempt to distance itself from the long-worshipped megapixel, HTC brands its chip as an "UltraPixel sensor", a term that seems to suggest either far greater resolution, or some major breakthrough in pixel design. The truth is rather more prosaic -- along with the modest increase in sensor size, HTC has simply slashed resolution in half to allow a greater photodiode size."

I just hope that HTC wont forget their own products easily, the last time I buy HTC products.. I only get one updates then the products discontinue, HTC wont release any updates anymore.. its a shame actually, I can see HTC is a good quality product, just the software upgrade is very dissapointing

you seem to have written 4MP for the camera, now that doesnt sound very exciting for a 2013 device...

The best smartphone at the moment hands down. I'm sold. I'm getting one on the first day of release. 4.7 is my ideal screen size. 4.3 is a little bit small and 5.0 is too big for me. 4.7 should be standard for all smartphones to make it more pocket-able and handy.

Gorgeous phone. I'm getting this if it delivers what it promises. I like my s3 but i hate it's cheap plastic slippery casing and super fragile screen. 4.7in is the sweet spot. I find my s3 already a little too large. Would not purchase a 5in phone. Go htc! I really hope u turn your fortunes round and with this device it's a good start!

The One x was released a good 2 months before the S3 and the S3 destroyed in sales. This is the same scenario so i think Samsung's market share is safe. This looks exactly like a Sony phone too square and only 4.7 inches.Last years design and specs, will be a good alternative for the non Samsung fans but hardly a threat to its domination of the market.

At first glance I can immediately tell the striking resemblance to the design elements of xperia P and iphone 5 (simply don't want to put blackberry z10 in the list since it's just announced recently). No matter how good the internals are, stealing others' design is simply unacceptable!

Sense 5.0 doesn't look as good or as functional as the previous versions. Even looking at its specs, quad core krait seems last year stuff. Tegra 4, Exynos 5 octa and snapdragon 800 phones are gonna come soon, so i'll pass.

I have been looking the design of the phone. When we look at the exterior design of HTC One simply I can say HTC worked different way this time. The design of the body is the mixture of two phone designs, infront is iphone and at the back is xperia P. This two phone have good wonderful design. HTC took these designs and put into HTC ONE and then they add some flavor to show the
Lil bit difference. So from this I dont know what to say if they worked hard or less in designing. But for me i'll say HTC ONE body design is nice but copied and pasted
For the interface I can see some changes and it is very nice, what I can say they worked on something.

Based on reviews i've read so far, the HTC One is equal to the GS3 at best. Not superior in any tangible, user oriented way. This despite it coming t market nearly a year after the GS3. I wonder if the new Ultrapixel technology will result in less natural looking pictures. At this stage can't fault HTC for trying something radical and different as it has fallen behind in the smartphone battle and still slipping. With the GS4 rumoured around the corner i guess HTC is back at the drawing board as we speak.

                                ULTRAPIXELS?!?!
It´s so funny... Pro digital photographers have usually preferred less pixels on a given size sensor, because the larger pixels would cause less noise, specially in low light conditions. Anybody that has some experience in photography and printing also knows that more megapixels means heavier files, noisier pictures and wasted MicroSD space.

What angers me is that they will actually use cheaper sensors (as not having to pack so many megapixels in a tiny area means relaxing manufacturing tolerances and improving yield quite a bit) and by making it sound cool they will charge dearly for it!!!

                                Sigh.... sheeple.

MyName, 20 Feb 2013Is it possible to turn off that annoying "Blinkfeed"?If im not mistaken..Blinkfeed is just a type of widget on homescreen.

HTC ONE will launch March, earlier than S4.
The situation isn't for Samsung's favor..
Last year one X and S3 was launched almost
the same time. This year HTC has the
upperhand. If S4 which being launched in April
was indeed better than ONE in some details,
HTC can always counter that with ONE+!!
They have advantages over Samsung this year.
It is The Best smartphone for now !!! Premium
built quality , blazing fast processor , elegant
design , designed for arm grip size (neither
too big nor too small), amazing camera,
new and lighter sense ui, and the battery which
more than enough for daily use.
As you can see htc butterfly 2020 mah battery
test, it gets very respectable 45h score . This
                                      is
better than xperia z, because htc uses lithium
polymer battery. 2300 mah lithium polymer is
equal with 2900 mah lithium ion.
