22 March 2013
Arguably one of the most exciting pieces of smartphone design in recent times, the HTC One is also properly powered and flaunts a screen that should please even the most demanding eyes...

HTC one camera is garbage, the device takes FOREVER to charge, the device runs above average hot, poor battery life for 3d games. I expect a lot of returns. HTC can bring good design but when it comes to hardware/software they are behind.

        1. 4MP camera has disappointing performance in good lighting conditions
        2. Non-expandable storage
        4. Sense UI still lacks connectivity toggles in notification area
        5. Non user-replaceable battery

While I am totally agree with your first 5 remarks.
But I do not agree for the other 3

        3. Awkwardly-placed and uncomfortable power button
        6. Poor video and audio codec support out of box
        7. The aluminium unibody looks very cheap

Despite all the hypes & claimed, I will not buy into Samsung Galaxy S4 or HTC One. Better luck next time to both.

Here are some low light samples made with my HTC One, shot in a pitch black night. With a little know how, you can get some amazing photos out of this phone.

HTC One is everything your phone isn't:

            * Aluminium unibody with zerogap molding
            * Ergonomic curved back to fit your palm
            * Stereo front speakers Beats audio
            * Dedicated amplifiers for headphones and loudspeakers
            * Ultrapixel camera that lets in 300% more light
            * Recessed camera to reduce the chance of damage
            * 88° Wide-angle 1080p HDR front facing camera
            * ZOE photo-manipulation and picture taking
            * A gallery brought to life with highlight reel and ZOE
            * BlinkFeed keeps you updated with the world glancing your home screen in a blink of an eye.
            * IR blaster to control your TV and provide you a guide with recomendations and reminders
            * Intuitive, fresh and easy to use Sense 5 to make your phone look stylish, young and professional.

Morfar, 06 May 2013Hi! Do you think the One wIll hold together for 2 years? My... moreHard to say, there are quality issues reported at XDA, mostly concerning the microphones, speakers, loose parts and the display. Surely it looks nice, but according to iFixit and XDA it might not be too reliable or cheap to fix. This and the camera performance kind of put me off.

edit: also, there's a panel lottery for the display. Some are very good if you're lucky enough to get one from Samsung/Sony, but you might also get one from AUO, the subsidary of Acer which is the worst. There are a few others as well, including Sharp and such which are hard to tell apart from the best ones. If you care about display quality it's also quite disappointing that even the best on is still LCD, even though it's very good LCD, but you might also end up much worse with an AUO panel.

This phone looks nice, but the camera is a major disappointment. Also, it's really big for 4,8 inch and heavy :-(

I also think Sony copied the front and back glass design of the Iphone. I own an XZ, it's a sexy phone. =)

It's so funny to watch haters making up the disadvantages which do not even make sense. HTC one is perfect, just face it, and move on.

Firstly its not as fast as s4.
Secondly why hate the light weight weight plastic body of s4, htc one is not available in white colour...even if it is...it would look horrifying!!! I dont understand what can people do if a phones body is plastic or metallic.
I have tested htc one in drop test in which it metallic body didn't had any advantage over the plastic body of s4 .
Though of some disadvantages over s4 ,,it will never win the race...

The aluminum is infact one of the strongest points of the phone. The whole beauty stems from the aluminum body and hence why it was one of the reasons i got the phone for my wife. No phone is perfect but this phone is a great phone.
Your last comment proved your a troll. Potentially a samsung troll. Only a few weeks ago samsung were proven to have paid bloggers (they were trolls) to bad mouth competition online. How cheap can a company get.
