lumia 720,520,620 have almost same spec

WP8 uses resources differently from Android (similar to iOS) in that it is very efficient. So stop saying 512MB is not enough. For God's Sake, it's a mid-range device! Don't say cheaper android phones come with 1 gig of ram 'coz they're algo laggy and feel like they were made from scrap yards.

The 512mb ram is not a limitation, provided that the price of the phone is under 20,000...still out of the total apps on the store ONLY two prominent apps are not working with the ram...as for further os upgrades, if the 510 could run 7.8 without any lag..then why would 720 be unable to get an upgrade....changing the kernel for win8 was for this reason!....

Nokia phones are getting better it's only the bloody os. Nothing against wp it just that it is too constrictive. I have a win8 computer, which I bought in Feb. I was planning on buying the L720 when if was announced but now when I saw that it has only 512mb of ram I was put off. I'll rather go for the galaxy grand even though it doesn't have those drop dead looks of the L720

Because this 720 has only 512 MB Ram and a 480x 800 display I bet it would not be upgradable to WP9 which might not be compatible with WP8. So you'll have to buy again your apps when you buy a new WP9 phone.

If I do comparison of camera samples with comparison tool of gsm arena between Lumia 920, Iphone 5 and Lumia 720 it actually seems that Lumia 720 is as a sharp if not sharper than L920 or Iphone 5?

I have my htc and run as many games as in 1 gb ram..... Dont b judgemental and spread skepticism......come out f android world.....windows 8 is great and runs smooth vid 512 mb

Granted, due to incompetence of former leadership, Nokia stuck with the obsolete Symbian train wreck for far too long. But now it seems they're finally back on track, which is good because the smartphone market needs innovation from someone other than Apple.

what's wrong with Nokia this days ?
512 GB RAM would be incompatible with some current HD games/applications.
It wouldn't be able to upgraded this phone OS to the next successor wdph OS.
Also screen (480 X 800) pixels resolution is not upto date.

If Nokia wants to get back into the game they must start releasing phones with someting else then WP. If they dont want Android it can be...return to MeeGo or something else ? WP dont give chance to become a leader in the sale, dont give chance fight against Apple, Samsung and other Asian companies such as ZTE or Huawei. For this they should throw away Elop, but today Nokia is controlled indirectly by MS. It's facts based on the smartphone sales, Nokia is the only large company which has only one system (why?) while Samsung, HTC, LG, ZTE, Huawei - have phones with WP and other system. A lot of people are waiting for Nokia with sth else then WP...

FM-radio will be activated via a software update, before the summertime.
For those complaining about 512mb, this is what Nokia's product managers said:
"One important factor we had too look into with both the Lumia 720 and 520 was avoiding the low memory and app restrictions (basically avoiding another Lumia 610 scenario). We actually had early prototypes running on 1Gb of ram and other running on 512Mb; the users testing them out couldn’t tell which was which."
