WW, 14 Jan 2010How do you open the rear compartment to insert the battery/... moreslide the cover in the direction of the arrow on the black part of the back cover.
It sort of slides then lifts up.. the instructions don't exactly tell you this!
I found out by accident.

Hope you get it sorted :o)

How do you open the rear compartment to insert the battery/ sim card.

I have tried lifting, sliding, pressing and sliding, putting my nail between front and back panel to separate but no joy. I have looked at the seam of the casing and have no idea how to do it. The mannual shows an upward arrow - lifting ?

After one day new E1120 refuses to send texts. On pressing send it shows the sending icon then after about 10 secs it shows the blue "error" message. It still calls ok and previousdly sent texts. Have I inadvertently altered a setting ? or is this a fault? Any ideas? Thanks

hi people ang happy new year!
I've read your reviews and overall I'm ok with it, but there's just one thing that is not very clear to me: the sound quality. This question is for the ones who already own this phone - what can u tell me about the sound? did anyone on the other end ever complain about the poor quality of the sound?? how whould you rate this out of 5?
                many thanks in advance!

Bought a E1120 as a basic car emergency phone. Suits well, spec'd longer battery life for it sitting around.

Bought a Samsung G600 car charger, plug fits phone but phone will not respond to charging. Could be charger is faulty. I notice Samsung list do not list any official accessories yet.

What car charger phone model works with the E1120???

                      Thanks.

I recently got a Vodafone 236 from my local hardware store together with a Vodafone CallYa card. Judging from the look and the specs, it seems to be a clone of the Samsung E1120, although it has the Vodafone logo on the front.
Yes, it's a very basic, not to say primitive unit. But hey, I need a mobile phone, not a super-duper multifunction device with camera, radio, browser and coffee machine integrated. And I got it as a gift for a purchase of more than 100 Euros, so why would I decline?

Just bought this as an interim phone as my current phone keeps failing miserably and long awaited Nokia phone not on sale yet. The Samsung E1120 is extremely basic - if you want a phone for texts/phone calls then it's fine - if you want more, forget it! No camera, can't find any ringtones, plus instructions are rubbish, but on plus side it will be good to have as a standby phone.

I got this phone because i wanted to make phone calls on the move i.e I wanted a mobile phone. Its cheap its easy to use and when I break it or loose it I will not be too upset. It has no camera, it has no mp3 player and it doesnt go on the internet. I will use the proper tools for these purposes when i feel the need. Its just a phone and a good one at that.

If you have a low budget then i would suggest you to go with Samsung E1120 Mobile Phone because the phone's appearance is fairly traditional and anonymous. Lids are plastic, which is not quite giving you the exclusive feel, the SMS-writing goes smoothly with the E1120. You can find easily in both spaces and punctuation menus. The phone also gives you great letter of sentences, which is far from it, has been a matter of course for Samsung's simpler models previously. Accordint to me this phone is for few that gives the phrase "You get what you pay for" positive tone. For more information http://www.techarena.in/review/11871-samsung-e1120-mobile-phone.htm

I bought this today for £10 to replace a 6 year old "backup phone", first impressins very good, it looks stylish it is very thin, the buttons light up with a very clear neon blue - perfect for night-time texts.

My only 2 problems with it are that there's no pc connect-ability to change the awful default wallpapers, and there's no way to block/mute certain callers leaving others loud/unblocked, which is annoying for a work phone where the phone number is giving out publicly.

Despite that, a great basic phone, considering getting another as a gift for someone that constantly has trouble with whatever modern phone they get.
