I have two of these note 2014 edition tablets a black and a white one on the one I flashed twrp recovery to be able to flash the custom ROM(resurrection remix ROM 7.1.1) from an SD card and I must say the custom ROM is much faster and no bloatware and charging speeds are about 45minutes faster charging times than the tablet with android lollipop 5.1.1 but we all know flashing a custom ROM has some bugs and flaws but at least battery lasts longer and more apps and games can be played with no lags if you want to flash custom ROM check XDA developer flashing is safe as long as you know what you doing

Mine was stolen from my car so I bought another from eBay for 45. Also picked up another brand new belkin real leather case for it for 8.99. Yay. I also own tab s4 which is higher spec and faster. But this note for the price is great. I use it mostly for art. The screen is great 299 ppi. The pen inside the case is good. It runs the apps I need it to run. I prefer the sisender of this to my s4 tab. It's also much lighter. Great netclix, youtube, even surfing the Web is fast enough. I love it and the software. It was expensive at the time. Still a good Tabley today if you want to use it for art or movies. Even playing games is fine. Oh up you can set sound to surround sound. Great for price. I won't be parting with mine.

This is a tablet from 2014, but even for 2020 standards, it is still quite impressive. The large display is nice and sharp, vibrant like an AMOLED panel, although if you look closely at it, you can see individual pixels, and it does possess a backlight, confirming it to be an LCD, a good one, though. The S Pen is very nice to have, although in 2020 we're used to pens attaching magnetically rather than a silo-styled holder in the tablet. My only complaints about it would be how they force you to use it in landscape, as it does look awkward in portait, and the low memory and storage. Some apps did relaunch from the app switcher.

True... Battery does charge slow and seems to burn out quite fast. Even my Note II felt more robust... I thought it was cause I bought it refurbished.

I dug the Note 10.1 (2014) out a few weeks ago after not having used it for a couple of years and I'm still somewhat impressed by it. It is still working with the major apps like OneNote, Xodo Pdf, PocketBook, Chrome etc, though it is starting to lag when you have several apps open. The battery is certainly draining quicker than it used to, but I can still easily get out 4/5 hours of use. I decided not to invest into a new battery (which you can get in the Bay including the tools to replace it) as eventually for more serious work this tablet has become a bit too slow. Charging the battery easily several hours (I charge it at night). If you don't mind having just one or two apps open, it is still a very good tablet, if you are coming from an older generation and don't mind the reminder that good things may take a while. For anyone else, who's used to snappier devices and wants to use the latest app, don't bother. If you do think of getting one, do not pay more than €80 or $ or 70 GBP. Oh, and yes, it is running on Android 5.1, you may be able to root it somewhere like xda to 6.0. Something else, the S-Pen with it is fine for some scribbles. But later S-Pens, even that of the Tab S7, do work much smoother, even with the original functionality. (Sep 2020).

                                  I have a Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-8000
It is still in good condition as I have not used it for years & years, I bought it from Australia.
                                  Its Andriod version is:
                                  4.1.2
                                  N8000XXCLL1

Do you thin I can update it to better formware/Andrioid version?
