The galaxy prevail is a great phone but the battery dies out extremly fast

Samsung Galaxy Prevail is an Android smartphone with 3.2" display. It is part of the Samsung Galaxy family and its model number is sph-m820. It is sold exclusively by Boost Mobile. It has 2MP camera, GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi and supports up to 32GB microSD memory cards. It is powered by a Qualcomm 800 MHz MSM7000 chip. It shipped with Android 2.2 Froyo.[1] Through firmware updates, it now runs Gingerbread 2.3.5
Battery is a 3.7v Li-ion, 1500 mAh, model EB504465VA (Which is also compatible with the Samsung Acclaim r880, Samsung Craft r900, Samsung Indulge r910, Samsung Intercept m910, Samsung Replenish m580, Samsung Showcase i500, Samsung Sidekick 4G t839 and Samsung Transform m920.)

I guess Samsung changed the Prevail later in production. Mine is a month old today. It came with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread. It has WiFi as I use it on my router at home. The battery gets warm sometimes, but never hot. A full charge with heavy use last all day. The phone has never locked up and is very quick. Network performance is great here in Tulsa. I think I would be insisting that Sprint / Boost update my older Prevail.

HATE this phone. I can start the day with a full battery and by lunch it's dead, even with limited use, such as texting on and off. The phone freezes almost every time I open an app or make a call. And it overheats whenever I'm doing anything but light texting. The phone is slow as heck and lags like crazy. I've had it for five months and intend on replacing it as soon as I can, as it's performance deteriorates a little more each day. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.

The battery power really does suck, I mean literally

the battery sucks dosent stay charged for long and sometimes i will have the phone pluged in the charger overnight and i wake up and it says 0 percent charged

I think the galaxy prevail needs to be updated a bit more the connections stink i cant get any connection 3 g or network and wont send text I dont believe it is all its racked up to be..

If I use my phone for a hour the battery gets whot, the phone says battery too hot must shut down. When I use it t
off the charger for two
hours my charge goes below 20%
. I called boost, they had me reset factory settings, no improvement. I also lost facebook &urbansocia after I reset.About to take it back and get a different phone!

AnonD-32756, 03 Dec 2011I have this phone and I use wifi all the time, what you mea... moreyes it does have wifi, and there are roms and other mods available for it already too. I currently own it and have cyanogen running on it. It's a decent phone, but it's lacking in the memory department. With your phone rooted and sdcard partitioned, you can bypass the memory limitation by using Link2SD in android market.
