DeeJay , 10 Mar 2024Has anyone recently swapped from an Apple device to this S2... moreIf you come from iPhone and are using Apple's products (i.e watch, mac, etc) and services (i.e Apple pay, etc), it is an easy answer: upgrade to the new iPhone.
If you come from nowhere, well it is a difficult answer.
Choose S24U for its Android/Google because of its flexibility and wider range of usability (I think)
Choose iPhone if you come from the country where Apple's services are fully implemented.
All specs of both are more or less similar. It may be better than other for the detailed persons, but for daily use, both are the best.

What are your pros and cons so far after switching?
I’m on the fence with an upgrade option due so want to hear people’s honest opinions please.

It's a gimmick seen on Xiaomi etc. If it was that important Samsung would have kept it on galaxy S7 . It's like sticking a pound shop remote in your phone.. cheap and gimmicky.

I slightly prefer the violet - it has the same frame as the gray - but the back is nicer/more interesting.

aaa, 09 Mar 2024Whilst these cameras in that list are good, there are other... moreTry Camera FV-5. It only takes photos and can't take videos but it's comprehensive. Allows a histogram, custom save location (including SD card), custom white balance, custom ISO, custom exposure, metering, and custom autofocus.
Supports multiple cameras. There's a 1X button on the bottom left which chooses cameras. It has forced flash, no flash, autoflash and continuous flashlight. It allows you to configure volume buttons to, for example shutter/focus, just shutter, EV+/EV-, change cameras and so on.
It can capture DNG RAW.
Allows you to set a custom naming scheme. And reset the counter for naming, as well as set the starting number for the counter.
It has grids (rule of thirds, one quarter, crosshair, golden spirals...).
Has normal photo, bracketing (ie. number of photos with EV ranging from 0.1 EV to 2.0), burst, intervalometer (ie. 20 photos every 5 seconds) and synthetic exposure.
It automatically sets correct orientation even with auto-rotate off.
Costs 3.29 or so on Play Store.
Runs flawlessly on my Android 14.
I find it takes the best detailed pictures even on everything auto.
This might satisfy the photographer in you.
For videos you have Cinema FV-5 but have not used that.

Mijing, 09 Mar 2024Failure camera phone of 2024 🎈indeed it's a failure camera phone that capable record at 8K30 in both periscope and wide lens, switch all lenses 'while recording' in 4K60, 4K120 as well, and both periscope+wide has 2x OIS range, 4x4 binning to 1px in a low light from 200mp too with remastered sensor HP2SX from a previous S23U
so yes.. a failure camera phone in 2024

If you bought this phone please do be aware that only the sides are titanium, the back is glass as in needs to be not metal for wireless charging to work. Whatever they do to the glass on these last few generations makes the cracks very hard to see though and the backs are inexpensive to replace anyway, not that it even matters if you replace it since everything will work the same if its cracked as long as it doesn't crack the camera lenses

https://www.techradar.com... moreWhilst these cameras in that list are good, there are other phones with higher specced hardware than what is shown in that list, such as Xiaomi 13 Ultra/14 Ultra, Huawei P60 Pro, Vivo X100 Pro, Sony Xperia 1 V, I could go on. As a photographer, I do not agree with the list.
If the list is for best PHONES with a decent camera I can understand that but clearly the list isn't about just the camera performance of the devices

I really wish they just upgraded the 70mm to have a much better sensor or something, and kept the 230mm. That way you could crop in to 5x and still look fine without sacrificing quality at 10x, 20x, 30x, etc.
Would be nice if they somehow improved dynamic range of the ultrawide too but not sure if that would be possible
