if u want to experience android in this price range its great value for money...
i m using it since last week everything is fine wid me...

Excellent Phone from Samsung. Coming to the review of this phone
Pros:
All the features!
Cons:
Camera
Screen(cant ask a bigger and more resolution screen for this price)
Review:
OS & UI: Excellent speed, no lags, no hangs etc........ TouchWiz rocks; it has 7 homescreens etc...
Google Maps: Cant tell in words, it locks my position so Fassst!!!! WoW, pinching to zoom and panning around is absolutely smooth. For this price range its more than expected. Digital Compass also works good
Camera: good for 2MP, we can use Camera 360 free for more features!!
Music and Video: Excellent music player with many technology's like DNSe, WOW HD™, SRS CS Headphone™(5.1 channel surround) which are breathtakingly brilliant for this price tag!We can download many equalizers from Android Market which are available for android 2.3(only) .I use MoboPlayer for better video playback and more format support!!
Misc:
It has Bluetooth 3.0 HS which is used by Galaxy S2!!!!(for 7k!)
It has WiFi 802.11 b/g/"N"; yes it has N, no other device in this price range has N
It has 832 MHZ processor, 300MB RAM , Broadcom Videocore IV GPU
Neocore : 38.0 FPS
Quadrant: 951(wow more than Galaxy S)
We cannot say that the screen size is small. Before people were happy with 2.8 inch screen on Corby paying 8000 bucks!! with no smart features!!
We cannot find a single negative point that would blow us away from buying this phone!

Bought mine yesterday. Nice phone, good value for money. Really zippy and screen is good enough. I use 3x4 keypad, dont like qwerty. Will post battery performance once tested. I have a couple of questions though:
1) Is there really no backlight on the softkeys beside the home button?
2) Can it play plants vs zombies?

i got tis phone.works superb.best for music,wifi,processing speed,battery..only cons s minimal ram but works great for this price tag..sure definitely male!

I have bought a Galaxy y for INR 6900 (approx. 138$) from a store at Calicut - Kerala 3 days ago.
Its a cool phone. screen is small but not bad.
multi tasking and processing speed is good. It takes about 190mb of 290mb RAM without installing or running any apps.
Its 2MP camera is good for image but not good for video

It played games like angry birds very fine.
Typing in portrait mode is difficult,but landscape mode is ok.
Battery life is about 1 day. disabling GPS, packet data, wifi, sync will increase standby.
I used Wifi and EDGE networks not 3G.
Installed many apps including Opera Mini, Teamviewer, mobo player, ES file explorer, some other games and apps. all are worked fine.
Instant Messengers Tried
------------------------
1.Google talk -> only texting available no voice
2.Google+ -> No hangout or video/audio call support
3.Yahoo messenger ->chat only - no audio/ video
4.Nibuzz (Best One) -> works fine audio/text with google talk, yahoo accounts - and text for Facebook
5.Skype ->Supports voice vall & chat only no video call
6.Fring ->audio call for Google account & only text for yahoo. I checked fring video call with fring support team.(I dont have any other contacts in it) i can see their video but my camera is not working.
7.Tango-> It supports video call and works very fine..!! .I used tango messenger to video call from PC to my Samsung galaxy Y and all works fine. Video chating is very good. i can turn on/off my back camera of my phone (since it does not have front camera)
I used all the messengers in WiFi with a 2mbps connection.
So i recommend Nimbuzz for Audio chat and Tango for video chat

i'm planning to buy this phone, just wanna know if the music player is better or just the same with Galaxy 5/europa? please do tell me, it just says on sound that it has 3.5mm jack, don't know if it's performance is better than my old galaxy 5 when it comes to music.
