Samsung M110 is splash-free

05 Jan, 2008

Rugged handsets are hard to find these days as most manufacturers hardly make those. Samsung M110 is a brand new exception to this rule as it offers splash, dust and shock resistance. Claimed as the "toughest mobile phone on the market" by the South Korean manufacturer, we were more than interested to have a look at its specs.

Turned out that beneath the warrior's armor, there's a rather humble low-end handset hiding. But its protection is enough to make the news.

Targeted at the outdoor enthusiasts, the Samsung M110 has a color 1.5" CSTN display with a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels, a VGA camera with LED flash, FM radio, Bluetooth and 2MB of internal memory (it does have MP3 ringtones support though). The Samsung M110 is almost 18 mm thick and weighs under 100 g.

The Samsung M110 has dual-band GSM/GPRS support. A truly unique feature is the carabiner straphole that allows strapping your handy safely.

The Samsung M110 will be available in green or black for a little more than USD 100.

It is only splash-free, guys! It's NOT waterproof (you still can't dive or swim with it). LOL Great for my long walks on the beach.
