That ultra wide lens is useless. If there was some reasonable medium zoom, say 60 to 80 mm instead of ultra wide, it could have been a nice little camera phone... But without telephoto for portraits... I am not interested.

        Just take a look.
If you cut the central 12 MP portion of the wide (48 MP) camera of 5 V (2× digital zoom) you'll get an equivalent camera of 12MP, F1.9, 48mm, and sensor size 1/2.7".
Which is – let's be honest – is not that worse (even slightly better) than the original 12MP, F2.4, 60mm, 1/3.5".

This new configuration actually can rival on entry-level DSLRs equipped by kit lenses.

Anyway, you can just use software to hide that cutout. Just add a black bar on top. Otherwise, you should be able to get used to it. It's not extremely intrusive.

Actually, just XPERIAs and a very few other smartphone models have unharmed screens.

if Sony takes the xperia 10, and makes it 5`7 inch, with the camera system same as the xperia 1 v, squeeze at least 4700 (if not possible then 4300mah battery same as zenfone 9/10) keeps the SD slot and headphone jack, and for the price of 700eu 800 tops, i think they will kill the market

But Sony have that love-or-hate form factor and significantly bigger battery, also S23 fingerprint reader is quite poor (which will annoy you day in, day out) and picture quality is average at best so I can see people, who actually go for Sony happily.

If you don't mind bearing the loss of 3.5mm jack and microSD, go for S23. It's a better deal with better software.

(95% will disagree to this suggestion)

real shame they're removing the camera. hoping there's a phone similar to it near its release. Xperia are one of the only high end brand phones with sd card and a headphone jack with near-stock android.
