Does anyone actually know how to hard reset or factory reset this phone?
Originally gave it to my friend as a loan phone 2 years ago and he has now forgotten the pin.
Have tried...
1) Holding Power + Volume up, (which vibrates once) and then vibrates 3 times and turns off (Doesn't get to the 'sony' logo).
2) Have also tried the above again except releasing the button combination as soon as I feel 1 vibration, but it still boots up fully to lock screen.
3) Tried instead holding Power + Volume down but still boots up fully to the lock screen.
4) Tried using Xperia Companion on my Win 10 PC but it does not recognize the phone at all (However recognises my Z2 okay with the same USB cable)
So far seems absolutely none of the suggestions dotted around the Internet have worked at all.
Phone was sold through Telecom NZ (now Spark NZ)
Any ideas? Cheers

It is 2019 and I still use it, battery shows 1900 000 uAh (in service tests) and the phone is almost 7y old (i feel like dinosaur) :P
Love Xperia acro S (small, good in hand, still quite fast, ok camera, and etc.) but Sony new models doesnt last that long as the used to :(
XZ1c and XZ2c are not so reliable. And when compare them with AcroS (7 year old model), where are the improvements? It looks like only 1..2y have passed or was the AcroS 5y from future :D So new phone would not be Sony, unfortunately.

I've been using this phone for about 2 years and I have no problem using this. I really love the camera, the features, and of coarse this mobile phone is really great! I have so many times that I fell this phone in water, in stairs or in somewhere else place but still there's no problem using this. Over all, perfect!
