AnonD-104658, 24 Jan 2013The problem with Sony is that they always get behind Samsun... moreXperia S is 20K and S3 is 29K in my country.
You see the difference? BTW S2 is still 19K here. Your comparing device with 30% price gap, thats interesting.

The device is stunning! love it for the first time.. i hope sonny put bigger battery for this phone. 3000 mAh sounds to be good. Samsung's next galaxy flagship should better then this.

The problem with Sony is that they always get behind Samsung in specs, as Samsung always release its Galaxies after Sony, they come with a more advanced hardware, take Xperia S and GS3 as examples.

Xperia S was released in february 2012, but GS3 came in may 2012, and it came with a Cpu-Gpu which is a "gen" above Xperia S's(dual core in Xperia S(2011 technology) against quad core in GS3(2012 techonology)).

Galaxy S4 may come this may too, it is rumored to come with an eight core processor equal to Snapdragon 800 announced at CES 2013(the successor of the CPU used in Xperia Z), which can bring up to 50% more performance. And again, Samsung will probably come with a 2013 techonology and Sony with 2012 technology in terms of CPU-GPU used in XZ.

I think Sony should change its release-development dates in order to bring the latest technology in therms of processor-GPU in mobiles, as Samsung. So the Xperia Z could be released closer to GS4, bringing the new snapdragon 800, which is equal to the rumored CPU-GPU of GS4.

The problem with Sony is that they make their new flagship phone becomes old so quickly. Z and ZL haven't come out yet but the new 6.4" with better CPU screen and battery just around the corner. Look at Xperia T, TL are now old phone.

LCD, Liquid Crystal Display, has been part of our lives for years now. Besides mobile devices we see LCD screens being used with almost every computer monitor, and in the majority of recent TVs. While these screens are made of wondrous liquid crystals, they also require a couple panes of glass, and a light source. LCD screens produce some of the most realistic colors you can find on a screen, but might not offer as wide of a contrast ratio (darker darks and brighter brights) as AMOLED or OLED.

Some common terms associated with LCD displays are TFT and IPS. TFT or Thin Film Transistor makes the wiring of LCD screens more efficient by reducing the number of electrodes per pixel. One benefit of TFT displays is improved image quality over standard LCD screens. Another popular LCD technology is In-Plane Switching, or IPS, which improves upon TFT by offering much wider viewing angles and color reproduction on LCD screens. IPS screens are able to achieve this by keeping all the liquid crystals parallel to the screen. IPS is generally preferable to standard TFT.

i think it was much better if Sony has used a LED backlit LCDs like that of Xperia tablet Z instead of TFT, but its ok. resolution is more important than the type of screen.
