Because it was a field review, tested of Verizons network, which is far more battery friendly than the network GSMArena usually test their GSM phones on. As you know, verizon is not even a GSM network but CDMA. The same skewed results showed up more recently in the Lumia 810 battery test, and GSMArena attributed it to the network quality.
Just wait for battery test of the international HTC Butterfly with the same 2020 battery, you will not be exited.

It's not fair for them to say ... moreactually the fact is samsung catch the momentum at the time when android is growing with their Galaxy S and S2 while SE failed to catch them , and now sony is going at right direction , what u expect more at this time S4 pro is best(s4 prime is not in production i thnk). 1080p tft lcd display ( i like these display more then amoled) , 13 mp shooter which is best ( waiting for full camera review with final unit) waterproof, dustproof and many more . what u expect more. and at this time when S4 launched ,sony probably came with Snapdragon 800, much better camera and yes better display, so i thnk sony is the first in the war in 2013 and the real fight begins after S4 and G2.

jellybean is the most power efficient os version ever!and as we were surprised by the battery life of the droid dna we will be surprise by that one, it will be amazing

Can anybody tell which phone has better external built in or better internals than this?!!!
What people of iPhone5, lumnia shit 900, sgs3 can complain to this?
I think Sony is back at the top of the tops, like it was at times of glorious nostalgic P series, times when any competitor was nothing left to do, but admire!

maybe sony is too late for realise the quad core smart phone but 1 thing tat Xperia Z have than SGS4 dont have.... if they put on water SGS4 WILL DIED and XZ STILL ALIVE. ah@hahhaahha

More cores doesnt always mean better.
8cores? 16 cores? do you need these much of processing power ?
Sony's design is undeniably good indeed, in my opinion, and i believe quite some people would agree.
The display, as well as camera are superb to be honest.
Not to forget the water&dust resistant, that really helps in quite some ways
It is the BEST smartphone CURRENTLY, the matter is, how long would Xperia Z hold its pride.

[deleted post]I dont have any opinion but i do know that Xperia J and Tipo and Miro and the new Xperia E are all mistakes, a single core Cortex A5 has nothing to do in a modern smartphone, they should have used at least single 1GHz Scorpion or dual A5, ESPECIALLY In the Xperia J, imagine the useless thing cost more than the Xperia U that has a DUALCORE CORTEX A9!
At a minimum they should stay with lower midrange, but if they need their senior/most experienced developers for higher end units then im ok with Sony leaving the lower midrange as well.

We are approaching a point of performance saturation, some experts has already noticed a trend towards more focus on design and other things rather than just pure performance. Like HOX+, it has some kind of performance hardware but its ugly (nipple on the back and a design that points back to the old desire series, good looking back then but totally outdated today) and has no card slot. So it failed, just like the HOX, and for the same reasons. Another reason for the failure of HOX and HOX+ is ofcorse the low UI and app performance of Tegra, the 5th core is always awake when you dont need it and the real cores always sleep when you need them, but these factors dont matter much since only geeks and enthusiasts would know.
And Optimus G, fast, but has not managed to make a dent in SGS3 sales, thanks to the missing card slot.
Performance may matter les and less, the SGS4 will need a god design and other advantages to take on the Xperia Z.

makes me laugh...wen some one says sg4 will beat xperia z....lol...sg3 n.note 2 couldnt even beat xperia t & v....hahaha ...anyways....even haven.a 8 core processor will only give u the same 4 core performance....so its fact.... waste off money to get sg4...wen nun...even.a dual core is more dan.enough...mayb in.n nxt 6 yrs 8 core may be usefull...nice scam by samsink..to.fool.thier coustmors ....haha increase core sell double da price of sg3 :-p

Samsung starting to get famous after SGS2, the first dual core that are stable and manage to overcome the extreme lagging nightmare of android smartphone at that time. and it give snowball effect on SGS3 because of its quadcore phone. but i wonder if people really any extra core for a smartphone because there is obviously no more lagging problem with this so many core.
so the real question is, what does the advantage that samsung has after this point? let us wait for the future of the smartphone to be revealed.

GUYS, how to know that xperia Z is provided with dragon trail glass ?? and if it is then does it meen there is no need to screen protector or there is no way the all phone get scratched or what ???

The most important issue about this phone is its battery. When Samsung galaxy note2 has 3100 mAh battery capacity but this phone has only 2330 mAh!! To use a cellphone with 1.5 ghz processor and with Jelly bean operating system, you really need good battery power.
