Steam Summer Sale slashes Steam Deck price by as much as 20%

Victor, 02 July 2023

Valve's traditional Steam Summer Sale is on, and the company has taken the liberty to discount its own Steam Deck hardware quite heavily. While the handheld has gone on sale in the past as well, this time around, prices are slashed by up to 20%.

The base 64GB model now goes for $359.10 and €377.10 in the US and Europe, respectively, down from $399 and €419. This variant has proven to be the most popular one due to the fairly simple DIY SSD upgrade process on the Steam Deck. However, there are even more savings to be had if you opt for a higher storage model straight from Valve. The 256GB one is down 15% and now costs $449.65 or €466.65, as opposed to $529 and $549. The top-tier 512GB model is on sale for $519.20 and €543.20. That represents a 20% price cut down from the $649 and €679 MSRP. As a reminder, while you can upgrade the storage of a lower-end Steam Deck yourself, the only way to get the anti-glare etched glass on the display is to go for the top-tier variant.

Delivery windows on the Steam Deck have been perfectly reasonable for a while now. US customers can expect their unit to arrive in one to two weeks, while European countries have a two to four-week waiting period. Not too bad at all, especially considering we had to wait a full year for our pre-order unit.

As usual, the Steam platform is a master at suggesting additional items to get with your shiny new purchase. In the case of the Steam Deck, the official Steam Deck Docking Station is also on sale, slashed down 20% and retailing for $71.20 or €79.20 instead of $89 or €99. And Valse has also compiled a list of the top 100 games played on the Steam Deck by users for your convenience. Most of the titles on said list are also discounted as part of the Summer Sale.
