I bought my Nexus 7 in 2013, presently it's using android 6.0.1. Occasionally over the years I have looked at the tablet market and other than processor speeds (and a card slot) nothing I've seen even comes close to the build quality of this little gem! The only real issue I had was being stuck on the google start screen a few months ago. I actually had to open the case, disconnect and reconnect the battery...cache was completely full and preventing boot up. After that bit of maintenance I had no more issues! I'm about to upgrade to android 10, can't wait to see how it performs!

I've had the WiFi (32GB) version for years now, and just bought the LTE (32GB) version a few days ago. The battery life is pretty bad@$$ if you tune it right, and a good Android 7 ROM makes it feel like new. Can't wait to try out Android 8/10 on the LTE one, though. Maybe LineageOS? Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks? :)

Had this since 2014 (32 GB version). Been using it from time to time last years. Now I flashed it with Android 10 (AOSP extended) and installed new battery. Feels "oldnew". A bit laggy but works with limited apps in memory. Android 10 is very good on this, no problems so far after some days of use. Tried LineageOS for Nexus 7 but screen off (auto) didn't work.
Back is a bit cracked after some drops but ok after some glue. No big problems with hardware. Cleaned charging port with some electronic cleaning solution. Charge with 1100 mah. Auto rotation didn't work but repositioned a cable inside and I think that fixed it.

After using my Nexus 7 for 6 years, it finally seems to be approaching its end, now having trouble opening it, having to reboot it several times on some days to get in to it. Two years ago the screen cracked after I used it in a chilly pizza shop, then made the mistake of putting it on top of the hot pizza box while carrying the pizza out to my car. Snap! I bought a new screen from iFixit and repaired it, and I also replaced the battery, and it continued to perform well, but the lack of software updates since 2016, and age, have taken their toll, I think. Time to replace it. Looks like I will be getting a Lenovo Tab M8 FHD soon. Looks like the nicest upgrade to the old Nexus, and at a price lower than I paid originally for the Nexus. Some have recommended the Samsung Tab A 8 2019, but if you look at the specs the Lenovo FHD is far better and only $21 more. Go figure. Now, notice I said the FHD, not the HD model, the HD is quite similar to the Samsung and about the same price.

One of the best tablets ever produced, works perfect,
In the summer (2019) screen broken, in car beteren chair and middle, broken after hight adjustment of chair😰
                              (Touch)Screen replaced (€26,85)and battery(€30,45),
Old battery was poor 50%? Capacity, works fine again.
in China you can order battery with +30% capacity, because of delivery time and quality issues, iedereen standard battery in EU
Use it mostly at home, Often YouTube films casting tot smart TV

Only issue last Android version 6.01, but had no problems with that.

In use the wireless charge function (sinds 2013!) Still works fine, only problem takes 3x more time, with same load 5V, 2A charger.

Mine just fell 2m and smashed the screen. Don't judge! I am sorely tempted to replace the screen, as it is a straightforward job and this excellent tool was otherwise still rocking after more than five years. The USB port had stopped working in 2019 and I couldn't find the fault, but luckily it has wireless charging, so on we marched. When the port stopped I panicked and checked the Kindle Fire 7. Despite its age, the N7 remains the better machine.

A gem device which can be used for working on the cloud given with such a great resolution and still up to standard until this year.

Super and the only tablet (wi-fi version) for Ubuntu Touch. Given the age of the device, it's a very good piece of technology. Definitely worth the price (especially after so many years since the premiere).

Using it for 4.5 years and I have no problems with it. It's awesome.

I thought the screen was 720p all this time, guess I'm wrong
