This watch is a pairable watch with Android wear.
This watch is also a stand alone fully functioning phone with an inserted Sim card
It can make and received phone calls.
Read and send text with the onboard keyboard (yes the keyboard is active during messaging)
Everything a Smart phone can do this watch can do,
its only downside is that you cannot load Social apks. such as WhatsApp …..
So yes it is a phone all on its own without the need for pairing to an actual phone.
Insert your Sim, Go to settings, Connectivity, Cellular, Turn on Cellular, Advance, select Network from the list (would not recommend "Auto")
NFC " turn on"
I do think that you would have to pair one time with a smart phone to setup G-Pay, I am not sure as i have not set up on my own, (reason maybe is it needs a camera to take a photo of the desire card for G-pay.
Setup Find my Device so that you can send notification sound when you misplace it, of if lost or stolen same as with a phone
Restart the watch and the settings will take effect.
You can pair any Bluetooth headphones, or Uses the built in speaker and mic without headset.
With Network connected, you can do all necessary settings.
This is the best smart watch I ever came across, all other require you to have your phone either on you or near by.
This with an inserted Sim eliminate all that.

It has a SIM card slot and can make/receive calls with its number without a mobile phone.

Anyone who can sell me the charge for the lg urbane 2nd edition smartwatch or atleast let me know where can i find it? I have tried LG south africa and they seem to be lost when i talk about a watch that needs a charger

Lg urbane 2nd edition better than sport and I even sold my apple watch 3 non LTE cant compete with the standalone lg

After a few months the smartwatch stopped showing the charging progress ring when charging.
The ring used to rotate when the watch was left on a table.
I don't know how this happened. Any ideas?
