I have the 3G model which sold in retail stores in Vietnam. With lineageos 17.1 installed it's much more usuable than what I anticipated, although it's so slow. All the essential daily apps work, with most of them are lite versions. Original battery so it's bad, only 2 to 3 hours screentime. You can't expect much from a phone which is 10 years old at the time this comment was written.

Martin, 24 Feb 2021I bought this Sony Xperia SP in August 2014. It had a hardw... moreDid you upgrade to at least 4,3 android. Believe that has fstrimm built in, so keeps eMMC storage (sort of ssd) optimized. Otherwise gets laggy indeed. Almost sure this machiene can bennefit from it.

My SP is still going strong and is now running lineage OS 15 it's a great little phone with it's disco lights.

My Sony xperia sp is 840mb ram and 5gb it is function well and my Sony is google upgraded phone. I updated it with google play store and my phone is great but I don't like the version of the phone is old

I bought this Sony Xperia SP in August 2014. It had a hardware (I think screen) issue so it was replaced a few days later. New one was also laggy. The UI looked great but I wouldn't buy another Sony again.

Anonymous, 10 Sep 2020Read a lot of -ve comm, did they really use the ph it'... more"perhaps" they either dont have it or bought a refurbished one... i saw one refurbished in person... the digitizer is unreliable, sometimes it is unresponsive, other times it is sensitive... camera modules have tiny aperture compared to the original part... the frame repainted... even the software is "somehow" tampered as the service menu is different from the original, however, the owner claimed that it is acknowledged by pc companion... so, the mainboard might still be intact...
my xperia miro is even well built to that particular phone of my frame... my miro has bigger apperture and produces better picture (knowing that for todays standard, it is crappy, so what more with the refurbished xperia sp)...
that is why i am hesitant to buy refurbished one... i would rather buy a second hand phone from a friend... but, that too, is not advisable... at least, buy a two year old phone (with its last software update) as long as you are okay with phones without phone (only xperia 1 ii is updatable among my 26 phones)

Typical example of why Sony couldn't survive in mobile market ! They tried their best to make highly complelecated hardware in this model !

Read a lot of -ve comm, did they really use the ph it's one of the best phones to be out from Sony has a balanced life to it considering it was released back in 2013

Is 2020 august when I am writing here. I bought this Sony Xperia SP in august 2013. I bought two other phones in this time, but now I am writing this comment from Sony Xperia SP.
I have dropped it three times In water (wc) and only last time he had to be repaired a little. It's battery is super, I like it a lot, compared with other models that I have used. It's screen has noone scratch, indiferent I dropped it many many times!!! It's problem now is its only 5gb of memory available only 1 GB of RAM and VGA from front camera (main camera is acceptable, even is not the best) Sony, I want you to impress me with another phone in the same way.........

One of the worst touch screen phone's ever released by sony constantly crashing, rebooting all the time, if it freeze's there isn't a functioning power cycle button press so you have to wait till the battery dies. The SD card slot isn't stable so that can also lead the device to once again freeze, along with applications like chrome and Youtube they can make the keyboard not appear making it run slower after 2 minute's of use it's a great 7 year old device for general use like playing music and such but due to software and hardware malfunctions with a old software version that can lead to the device getting hacked do not purchase it will give you a one hell of a stressful ride.
