Symbian Belle won’t roll out on October 26 after all

11 October, 2011

It turns out that the previous information on Symbian Belle roll-out is not true. It suggested the Belle update will start seeding to Symbian smartphones around the globe on October 26, the day Nokia World kicks off.

Unfortunately, Yvonne, a Promotions Manager in Nokia's Software Update Management department rebutted this rumor and said that the update isn't happening then. Here is the exact quote, as taken from the Nokia official Support forum:

... and I can already tell you that this one is just a rumor & definitely not happening.

As you all know we are NOT announcing any dates for our software updates in advance. Plus: At the moment our focus first is to get Symbian Anna out to our customers in the US, Canada & Australia. Symbian Belle IS coming - but definitely not on 26th October as some blogs are claiming.

So, no Symbian Belle for us this month. Here's hoping that the initial rumors weren't too far off the mark and the roll-out will start at the beginning of November.

Hat tip to Boris Petrov, for sending this in.
