Because that's the only point, where X100 Pro has a solid advantage - in some use scenarios, that is. 24U is perfectly fine for many others.

Excellent cameras, better software and software support than vivo's, S-pen, excellent display. Literally no reason to switch to the X100 Pro. The X100 Pro might only have some more capable cameras, as well as some better performance but not by much. So no, don't switch

proUser, 29 Mar 2024Its not Li-po, Lithium-Ion battery. Yes their website does say li ion. But i dont see any reasons that system checker apps will show it incorrect as li poly. Not one app. All of them identify the battery as li poly. Try cpu z. Device info, all of them cannot be wrong.

So this is regarding vivo x100 pro (Chinese version) OriginOs, it's about Instagram not going full screen although I'm using gestures, every other app does go full but Instagram and that white/black bar at the bottom is annoying, anyone facing that issue?

Using this device from 2 weeks,
Pros:
1) Best camera
2) Night photos are also good with details
3) Zoom is great compare to s23 ultra/s22 ultra
4) Battery life is good 6+hr sOT
5) Smooth OS (funtouch android 14)
6) IP68 is plus point
7) Weight distribution is good, not feel bulky like s22 ultra or s23 ultra even with big battery
Cons:
1) OS need more polishing ( bloatware enabled by default even we disable it)
2) Heats quickly but not overheats
3) OS level - default calendar or alarm app works fine, but custom reminder app like todoist/any.do or famous apps, does not remind on time even we disable battery optimizations per app. when phone wakes-up from standby then it reminds, means when screen is on it works, standby it does not. Don't know what else setting it requires. Even I set timing after 1 minute to remind, and keep app in background it does not wake phone to remind, but when I manually wake up phone from standby, it shows. [ Strange issue ]
4) Security updates are very slow- its march over already they didn't give march security update yet.
5) Concerned if data is secured or not.. !!

...mine doesn't have bezels and the camera pinhole is very small compared to some pill camera islands and such.

Been using it for a week, will start with cons:
- There is ton of bloat. People saying otherwise have a different perspective on bloat. There's 8ish apps most people will never use, for example there's a 'simple mode' for aged/disabled people which you cant uninstall or even disable. There is an app thats just a shortcut to vivo.com; will never need it, cannot uninstall or disable.
- The screen feels really rough.. I dunno what it is, but the physical screen itself feels really rough to operate. Really kills the feeling of the phone. I recently switched to 120hz at all times, unne kill to the battery but things feel a bit smoother. Still figuring out where this issue comes from.
- Really hate the huge front camera especially after seeing how its not that mindblowing. There are also bezels around it, which makes the screen feel so eww.
- Funtouch still has a loot of UI customisations that are disabled. Hard to believe Samsung gives more custom settings than funtouch.
Pros:
- Camera, duh. Best Ive ever used!
- Screen looks really nice and I love the curved edges.
- The back is slippery, sure, but I can handle it really well even with small hands. Havent used cover in the entire week. The camera module interestingly helps quite a bit holding it with one hand, with the finger getting support from it.
- Hasnt hanged till now, though I dont really do any gaming or processor intensive work.
If you want a basically dslr in a smartphone, cop it without doubts. If you want aesthetics, stay away :)

I think the issue with the photo details - often lacking, is the ultra shallow depth of field. What you'd like to capture can easily be out of focus if the subject is near (since the whole body is not necessarily in focus - not to mention multiple subjects).
On the other hand, if you manage to correctly set the focus, the results are often nothing short of spectacular.

And it doesn't seem to do that in normal shooting mode with good light. Lots of detail preserved.

I'm coming from Pixel 6, appreciate the pure and fast Android experience - and Funtouch is very similar - very fast and clean.
Its almost like a Google One phone or a Pixel...

Using this device for week
below are observations
Good#
1) Good display
2) Best camera
3) Fast charging
4) Battery all day long
#Bad
1) Very slippery (weak ergonomics)
2) Battery life could be improved
3) OS is not so good compare to samsung/oneplus
4) Drain more battery using camera/video than other devices
#Many people complains it overheats, but I didn't get that, yes it got warm using 10-15min, temperature reaches 44c, but considering summer time in India, it is ok because outside temp also going 40+. Thermals are ok
#Its not throttling like oneplus (even it has Snapdragon 8G3) - so good point
#yes it takes little more time to cool
#overall - very good device, use with case *8/10 [ specially for camera overall exp is best]
