And you get 3 annoying dots on fullscreen videos, unless you turn off optimization in the developer settings, which also breaks auto brightness functionality. So I'd say no, don't do it. You don't get any updates regarding security with hyperOS anyway.

Been using MIUI 14 it had from factory since I got it a couple months ago and I have zero issues. OS updates are overrated in 98% of mobile devices like phones and tablets. Unless they specifically add something you need or fix breaking bugs.
Just keep your actual, regular apps updated and forget about it.

So far it's a great tablet for work, art, games, entertainment. I have not seen any downsides of this one yet.

The aspect ratio is better for video in wide format but I do agree it is better for a tablet to have something closer to 4:3. My friends iPad feels better for overall usage. But we do agree streaming and stuff is better here.
I think the upcoming Pads for Redmi/Xiaomi are closer to iPads in the aspect ratio.

just got this tablet today and why is the aspect ratio so bad? I wish I wouldn’t have bothered. Doesn’t fit the screen in 4:3 or 16:9 viewing photos stinks and watching videos stinks.

IJustWantATablet, 17 Apr 2024Still worth it today or are there other tablets nearing release?Redmi pad pro is a 12.1 inch tablet with sd-card slot and 3.5 mm audiojack that cost around 220 Eur. The only advantage of Xiaomi Pad 6 is more color accurate display.
In the secon half of the year Xiaomi Pad 7 is believed to be released. Rumor has it that Xiaomi Pad 7 Max has an OLED display but going to cost like $ 500 and more.

Bro it's buttery smooth, and the tab got hyperos update just waoooo , never lag and it's offer u a work station mode bombastic feature , 2 day battery🔋 life on heavy use. Screen and sound just wao wao and wao 😄
