I think they do need to keep the price in check though. Past $100 they will run into serious competition from more capable offerings

Anonymous, 07 Feb 2024A reminder to the public that this is an entry level phone.... moreActually, at this price range...a T610 chipset would be enough, Not a freaking Snapdragon 8, Naive.

So funny reading all these negative comments about a $75 phone of all price ranges, that's like picking up on a little kid and feeling smug about it.

Worst thing is that its a rumored device, meaning the specs are not entirely accurate and subject to change. Think about it, you're complaining about imaginary specs on one of the cheapest phones out there, as if you've got nothing better to do with your time, and don't get me started with those 2 guys having a back and forth, multiply my last statement tenfold and apply it to them because their time is clearly worthless.

no one should use android go and emmc in this day and age

Okay, and? This phone isn't gonna be fast, nor is it gonna feel fast, so what's the point of such spec?

Oh, and you can probably find a Razer Phone, or Razer Phone 2 for around $100 on the used market, with then current flagship chipsets and 120hz QHD displays, and while not top tier but definitely better cameras than this.

"And why aren't you saying the same for mid-range?"

Simple. They range from at least usable, to actually really fast, with good, or really good cameras and great displays.

This phone achieves none of those things.

justasmile, 07 Feb 2024For example?Any old flagship, like a Galaxy S9, or even an S8, or an iPhone 6S, or 7 would destroy this in everything except battery life, and if battery life is so important just get a cheap non-smartphone Nokia.

Those old phones won't get software updates anymore, you think this will get any? Okay, maybe 1 year of updates, but who cares when it's already going to be insanely slow.

Cheap phones with Unisoc chipsets paired with UFS 2.X storage are also much better than this will be. Something like the iTel S23+/S23.

DarlingYext, 07 Feb 2024Nope, you can get better. For example?

justasmile, 07 Feb 2024Put an exception to these extreme low-ends.Nope, you can get better.

                          Dark Blade, 06 Feb 2024A good design... a shitty g36 chipset...😑It's a cheap phone. I expected an FHD+ display instead, but hey there's a 90hz refresh rate.

Who comes up with these model names over at Xiaomi?

This design kinda reminds me of the newer sharp aquos phones

The back features shiny chrome-like frames around the body and the camera bump (look on Youtube). It looks quite nice, but rather hefty. As long as people realize what its limitations are, they may like this one.

Any phone in 2024 and onwards with only 4GB of RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage is simply useless and unacceptable.

I'd rather not even say anything about the 2GB variant of this phone..
