2 years of usage, front camera stopped working and sound completely gone. If someone calls me or I call them they don't hear my voice. If I connect to any device via USB, I can't play any music or video. Too much issues with this phone and it's not even 3 years old yet. I don't hangout on social media that much, I'm mostly on my computer. So I've been quite easygoing to the device. This is my first Xiaomi experience and it hasn't been pleasant.

It's my main phone for barely three years. It has quite the average hardware. But Xiaomi's software doesn't seem to help at all. Too bad that Xiaomi decided to EoS/L This phone. One of the most sold...
Well... Gotta make a backup and try some custom ROMs...

Google Maps Compass (map not rotating) problem persists?
Did anyone else notice that this old problem seems to be returning?
When my RN10Pro got MIUI 14.0.8.0 i was happy because aparantly the problem with Google Map compass had finally been solved.
The North-Up v/s direction heading (especially when walking when in pedestrian mode) finally worked again, when i rotated the device left, the map would rotate in the other direction and viceversa.
Since a few days the problem where the map "gets stuck" seems to re-appear, the map does rotate fine when in normal mode after opening GoogleMaps but when starting a pedestrian navigation, the map jumps around wildly rotating like a rollercoaster with no real reference to North.
I sent reports to Google + Xiaomi because experience from the past showed that it is not clear who's fault this actually is. I don't think any hardware issue with sensors because the compass app of xiaomi works just fine.

Xiaomi Security App - Version Question, Battery Optimizer and Video Toolbox question
As many will have noticed Xiaomi removed the feature in the video toolbox to turn off the screen while playing videos e.g. on Youtube, and reverting to older versions of the Security App is no longer a sensitiv option (at least to me) so i dug a bit into the security app and also noticed it is responsible for the battery settings and menu.
Does anyone know what the last digits of the version numbers of that app mean? e.g. ...0.1 ...1.1 ...1.2
From apk mirror i currently installed the latest version
com.miui.securitycenter_8.9.1-240321.1.1
and from what some people write i assume this is correct for global variant and everything seems to work, yet there are also 1.2 versions for example.
Some Xiaomi phones seem to have the ability to let the battery charge only up to 80% which in my case would make sense because the device is almost 24/7 on the plug.
Does anyone have an idea if a specific version of security app would bring this feature to the RN10Pro? Or even better if it would make the screen-off thing work again (i am visually impaired and can't use the screen anyway during playback) :)

Apart from these things the phone is still brilliant and works perfect.

A good phone with good camera performance and build quality, you can flex ur build quality to even a recent phone but, it has poor software and poor optimization. I faced many issues with these

I have been experiencing ghost touch for the past 2 months, it will stop for a day and continue. The bottom screen doesn't respond to torch except I change the navigation to buttom. I have removed the screen protector, clean it, factory reset, it still persist. There is no crack on the phone, no water contact. Please how can I fix it. I am not ready to change the phone. Thank you

I've been using Xiaomi.eu on Mi Max 3 for years, and it's NOT more stable than the official. It's plainly impossible because even popular custom ROM isn't fractionally as extensively tested as the official software. The final version of xiaomi.eu on MM3 does not always signal incoming calls, which is an unacceptable bug. But hey, it's the final one so it is what it is! If you are not into experimenting and want your phone to just work, I recommend staying with the official.

I'm using it sice 2 month now + some tweaks rooted and custom Kernel(strix) better battery backup.
