I'll be in China later this month or early August. You can pick these up in the Xiaomi company stores for 1899y or about $283 for the 8/128 and $328 for the 8/256. Pretty good deal in comparison to the overpriced Samsung and Apple offerings here in the states.

Amazing how so many people see the words 'IPS LCD' and think it's a bad display. This display is AMAZING! It may not reach the deep blacks of an OLED, but the colours are sharp and vibrant, the screen gets very bright, it has a DisplayMate rating of A+, why slate it then???

Earlier, I carried out a long reserch, which showed that this is the OLED screen with the best protection against flickering. Despite this, I had nausea and headaches even after using it for a short time. I have lost faith in any good OLED panel. Currently, I do not care about hi-end smartphone anymore, since OLEDs are present everywhere. I just want something reasonable with the IPS. This Xiaomi looks solid.

PWM is a big "no" for me, too.
There are manufacturers that implemented DC dimming for their OLED displays.
Asus zenfone 8 supports it, but only at 60hz.

There are tons of oled Xiaomi phones and not one high refresh rate phone without the use of PWM dimming. Do you realize how many people suffer from PWM and cannot stand oled? I guess not. I am extremely glad there is finally a more high end phone that I can buy!

I find that quite surprising given Xiaomi's track record of horrible LCD screens with low contrast and faded colors. But my experience with Xiaomi was from years ago, so I'll believe it now.

Mukund rai, 14 Jun 2022IPS screen in 2022 is worst decision , its a deal breakerAs long as it's excellent quality IPS, I'm okay with it.

I hope it dims to below 10 nits, if so then they should implement an AOD, just like with the LG G7.

The only pro of (AM)OLED displays are that they are brighter (meaning more visible on sunlight) and deep blacks. In all other categories, LCD IPS is still the clear winner.

9/10 of smartphones being released have amoled screens. If you want amoled, buy amoled. Some of us still want IPS screens
