Anonymous, 11 Apr 2024by increasing real msrp by 150-200 usd later in real worldNah, that was just your country have expensive import taxes plus a hefty shipping cost. Here in asia, phone prices are not that different compared to their original price in their home country.

Konrad Lorenz, 11 Apr 2024Slave labor, quality control issues, selling the same model... more"lower quality parts" ahhh so a 12 bit dolby vision screen is "low quality"? Also using last years sony LYT600 sensor AND the brand new SD 8s3 is "low quality", i think you're talking porkies matey.

Youve just described samsung in literally one go, so the a55, m55 and f55 are all the same, cheaply made device with same specs and nothing really new in years that sells for what, almost double this device, 4gb less ram and half the storage and an 8 bit non dolby vision panel thats lower res, what a deal! (ill even ignore the exynos 1480 and sd7g1 in the m55 they use for your benefit)

Also arent samsung actually in multiple lawsuits in asia (and they were in france i think) about literal slave labour issues and poor worker enviroments, again this is known for apple too, you know the american multi national, probably most power company on the planet with probably atleast 50 times the resources xiaomi has yet production costs are the same as android phones £400 less when selling to the public.

Its selling this cheap because they put money in to the chip, screen, main cam and faster charging and probably making little profit/targeting a market where the majority of buyers dont have £1000+ to spend like us 1st worlders (my educated guess).

MakeMotoBetterAgain, 11 Apr 2024I wonder how Xiaomi affords to have this phone have a such ... moreAds (but some countries doesn't have ads at all), cheap labor, minimal marketing, minimal profit, flash sale scheme, makes a ton copies of the same phone with minor changes, and their product is not just a phone (they even have a frickin car now!) so maybe they have cross subsidies or some sort(?).

MakeMotoBetterAgain, 11 Apr 2024I wonder how Xiaomi affords to have this phone have a such ... moreSlave labor, quality control issues, selling the same model with lower quality parts (a few percentage of the produced devices only, too get away with it) and other shady tactics

I wonder how Xiaomi affords to have this phone have a such a low price with the margins they get, like, if they were in the us they would wipe out every other android rival.

Jack, 11 Apr 2024Just wanna point out that the SD 8s gen 3 is a rebranded SD... moreNot at all, it's more of a 8G2/8G3 hybrid with a weaker GPU than 8G2, but has stronger CPU and higher efficiency. Still a solid package for midrangers offering near flagship performance on a budget.

In here, xiaomi phones price pretty close to china, if the price in china around 260 euro, it will cost around 270 euro (converted) here, and we still have 2 years warranty, global rom with no ads whatsoever, official support ( include 4g and 5g bands support, customer service in each city, etc).

So, that 150euro marks up you talking about, is just eu being greedy. You're paying a lot more for essentially nothing.

I have used 2 samsung flagship phones long time ago (when taxes in my country were not crazy high). Samsung galaxy note 3 and galaxy s8 both died in less than 2.5 years. Lifespam of my note 3 was even smaller (2 years) soo there is no guarantee that you would get longer life span if you buy samsung. My recently died phone was poco x3 pro that lived for 2.8 years. In my opinion average lifespan of phones is 2.5 to 3 years (whether which company it is). Trust me lifespan of All the phones is completely Random. Btw i am happy for your s23 ultra i also prefer samsung Flagship devices over others and for midrange i prefer Xiaomi

The price will be probably 430 euro for the standard model as the 12/256GB version
Poco F5 8/256GB was 430 euro year ago. Even tough there were early prices for the phone to get it for 379 euro in some places

And if you cant wait for that long then there is already out Poco X6 Pro that is close to same performance but with 379 euro price you already get the 12/512GB version

In Europe we need to add like 150 euro for that price to get it. Well you can buy the Redmi Turbo 3 from China sites but you wont have the B20 band for 4G and you will have issues with the internet connection

Also these Chinese version have a lot more bloatware and ads all over cause that is the reason why they can have the phone price lower as they get a lot of money back from the ads people are worced to watch
