3GSM Barcelona 2007 live coverage

GSMArena team, 12 - 15 Feb 2006.

The Sharp stand at the 3GSM 2007 was an attractive site but unfortunately most of the mobiles presented didn't have GSM support. And since we at GSMArena.com focus only on those models which do, we will present you the few Sharp GSM highlights.

In January Sharp released special limited McLaren Mercedes edition of their mobiles Sharp GX29 (2G) and Sharp 770SH (3G) in support of the new team Vodafone McLaren Mercedes. The 3GSM congress gave us the opportunity to take some live shots of those mobiles. The handsets are inspired by the styling of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 cars - the chromed front for example.

We enjoyed the Sharp PV200 thanks to its snapping display which rotates readily at the touch of a finger. The device is already well known but here at the 3GSM 2007 Sharp presented a white NBA limited edition for the American market branded with the name of the NBA player Dwayne Wade. We liked the PV200 with its quirky form factor although the QWERTY keyboard had some cheap looks.

While we were at it, we managed to spot an unannounced Sharp slider which looked fascinating. It was showcased behind a protective glass and its model designation as well as specs are yet unknown. In fact the displayed pieces were only dummy phones so obviously we would have to wait to see more of the real deal.

Despite our devotion to GSM mobiles we decided to show you live pictures of a Japanese Willcom mobile that also caught our eyes. It won't be appearing on the European or the American market, but then again it looks so nice we couldn't help but present it here. Among the main facts we have on it are the VGA resolution display, the miniSD memory card slot and the USB host controller - the latter one so rarely seen on Pocket PCs.

The Motorola F3 is the featureless set and it is no way near the friendliness. It is the request for Motorola to kindly announce how to delete messages as well call dialed numbers from F3 handset.
