8K and 4K videos from the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra posted on the web
Edwards Urbina has been snapping photos with a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra days before the new flagship has been officially unveiled. Now he has moved on to showing off the phone’s improved video capabilities.
Here is a 4K 60fps sample uploaded to YouTube:
Unfortunately, this is the only one uploaded so far. Urbina has posted more videos on Twitter, but the social network doesn’t handle high resolution video so well.
Still, here is an 8K video sample recorded with the main 200MP camera (based on the new ISOCELL HP2 sensor). It has been compressed far too much to talk about image quality, but notice how smooth it is – the Galaxy S23 series is finally getting support for 8K videos at 30fps.
Update: That was quick - the tweets with the videos have been taken down.
Here’s another 4K at 60fps video:
The second video on Twitter was also recorded with the main camera. We’re not sure about the YouTube sample, however, that one looks zoomed in – it could be digital zoom or it could be one of the two telephoto cameras on the phone (3x and 10x).
While we’re here, check out these camera samples from the Galaxy S23 Ultra. They have been downscaled by Twitter, so we can’t enjoy the full detail captured by the 200MP sensor in this shot:
And here are two pairs of images that show off the 10x telephoto camera’s optical magnification and the same at 30x digital zoom:
The Samsung Galaxy S23 series (plus the Galaxy Book3 laptops) will be officially unveiled on February 1 (Wednesday). The three new smartphones have leaked extensively and over the last few days we even started seeing details about pricing. Spoiler alert: current info points to a price hike, so you may want to secure that pre-booking discount while you still can.

You clearly need a lecture first , I'm not talking about the typical HDR10 ... staggered HDR should be supported in camera sensors first and it output separate long, medium, and short exposures in video concurrency called also computational HDR....

Then all manufacturers should still be shipping USB-C to headphone jack with the thousand dollar phone in the box. It would fit in there.
