What essential feature is missing here? It can make calls, send sms, access internet, run apps. So... What else is essential?

"Use an adapter" or "buy different accessories" are extremely lame excuses...That USB port would still be there with a 3.5mm jack, Bluetooth would still be there with a 3.5mm jack. If size is a problem, then brainstorm a 3.5mm replacement that's narrower...or use one of the smaller form factors of the same port (2.5mm, 2mm, etc.) The problem that resides in the adapters is the DACs are usually garbage in them, and they don't reproduce sound well...AND block your ability to charge while listening...
Keep defending the swindle...lol

With that Front camera right over the display, isn't it going to be covering the screen? Full screen apps like games or movies will probably need to be sized down, which wont look good. Other than this and a few other shortcomings, its a really good device.

Obviously it is essentially overpriced. Oneplus 5 which is 30% cheaper would be a better buy.

Plus one more thing about this phone. Since it is called Essential Phone, the price of the phone should be around the essential price of a normal phone lmao and not 750 usd lol

The lack of IP rating is not a huge surprise, because Pixel phones also lacks it. The second Essential will have it, and the Pixel 2 will have it too for sure.

Such capable selfie would go well with xzp that got 4K screen. The only phones coming close that I know are samsung's S and notes with QHD video.

I wonder how you will dowload apps on this phone, since it says it uses a different OS(not Android), will play store work for this or they will make a new store for this Phone?. Besides this the specs and design are amazing.

No sd card slot, no earjack, no water resistant. All the essential features are not provided by this so-called Essential phone. I dont mind no radio but those three missing features is a deal breaker.
