Anonymous, 24 Apr 2024Leather is AwesomeLeather is so ugly and impractical. It will get dirty if you use it without a case. I don't have leather on my phone and I use it with case 95% of the time, but when I'm home or in bed I sometimes like to take my case off and use my phone like this. If it had leather, it would get dirty.

What a horribe, cheap, lazy and uninspired choice for a back design.

You can connect an external DAC and get a proper sound, albeit at the expense of battery life.

Their earlier phones until 2008 were manufactured by Taiwanese ODMs Arima and Compal.
Then it was handed over to Sprocomm and Longcheer and continued until 2017. After all of that, they had to use Huaqin and Wingtech as their manufacturers, then the designing was done by the above 2 companies since 2018.

People also dont understand the type C port literally does the same job as a jack with active and passive pass through, i use my jabra elite 85h with dongle (so wired input), get an audio quality upgrade (notice mid frequencies a lot clearer and low frequencies arent red lining and are much more "full", then again i prefer warmer output.

I literally use my phone to create songs with my guitar, if i needed to i could connect other instruments etc to use as midi devices if i wanted to improve my production, tbf most apps have the ability to create other instruments digitally anyway with no input delay.

People just like to complain about the jack and card slot, ive used both since i was a child growing up and havent needed either for the past 6 years but people love "the old days" when most likely they barely lived through it.

Tech Boy2010, 27 Apr 2024but what about the s24 ultra? isnt that a good samsung phone? Its decent, its a good phone but massively overrated and overpushed in every market worldwide so people with terrible buying mentalities (about 90% of all buyers, proven by scientific/phychology studies) go for it without thought like a lot of my mates, ive even asked why they have it and its just marketing rubbish repested back to me without understanding what they are even saying. That or "because samsung" which is what most apple phone buyers say and do (everyone i know has iphone or galaxy phone, how bad its gotten now).

Its just a "good" all rounder, isnt the best in any area from screen to charging to speakers etc) and possibly the worst design on a phone (that is just my opinion, they do have nice colour options to be fair).

So this literally the galaxy m55 ane f55, the exact same phone (same dimensions, specs, weight, literally its the exsct same phone) Anyone going to call it out or we just doing "chinese release same phone with different name"?

It would have been a better choice to include a chipset such as the snapdragon 7s gen 2 instead of the old 7 gen 1. Otherwise the rest of the specs are just perfect.

Samsung User, 25 Apr 2024I hade a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 for the past 5 years and I c... moreYou cannot compare a Note 9 from years ago with the standards of today. Both software and hardware protocols are different. For that time, the Note 9 was a beast and it was one of the best phones I ever had. Unfortunately, we have evolved.

First of all, not all levels of phones are made equal. The prices of higher end phones are mandated through the quality of the materials in significantly different ways than what most people think. For example, when you are making a motherboard for a cheaper phones, you will use a cheaper mixture of gold for the conducters, rather than in an expensive one, which in turn reduces the quality of data transfers. In a high end phone, manufacturers have to make sure that there is not a single component to create a "bottle neck".

Then we are talking r&d, marketing, transport, taxes, and many different aspects. Buying a cheap upper midrange phone from China makes me question the SAR values first, because not a single manufacturer publishes them. I personally use the vanilla S23. You put any other phone in my hand, and I immediately notice the colour shift on the screen due to poor crystal management of the display, the poor lamination process leading to rainbow banding, the software oversharpening images, the terrible UI issues due to the mismatch between the screen's resolution and the UI's PPI management. Then we can talk antennas, signal dropping, heat management, longevity and the wear and tear of the materials.... The list goes on forever.

Manufacturing a phone ten years ago was more robust than it is nowadays; there is a reason why higher end phones are more expensive.
