I have just bought this phone a day back from a mall where its was being sold at a discount...
Iam not thru yet for being a judge on this phone as yet..using it just for about 48 hrs or so.
The phone does tend to heat up if you speak for a longtime like say about 15mnts upwards and you can feel the handset going warm on the hands.
The issue of battery draining fast can be resolved to some extent after making some settings on the display screen and go idle menus...this does increase the battery life to some extent.
However I am stuck with a feature of the software that is english-arabic version. The phone supports both versions togeather and i have tried quite hard to disable the arabic version with no luck.
Please if someone can help me on this??
The phone is a very high end/complicated/must have patience..kind of a phone and not for short fuse characters.

It's really great phone guys, it's working very well now, yeah it was very very bad experience and i phoned the supplier to refund my money back after one week of use. but later i changed my mind and i decided to work with it. now it's smooth, i downloaded all important patches plus SPB shell/suite etc (registered versions). now the big step is: Reset your DX900 manually once per day, i do it every morning... enjoy

Hi all, i live in Dubai and i got this device on 3rd of July 2010,,since then,i could not use this mobile as it always freezes and i have to remove battery to turn it off as power button doesnt work, further, dual sim also doesnt support same time, its very slow, i have been using nokia, sony erriscon , samsun, and LG mobile, i must say i never get such a worst device,, it is a BIG HEAD ACHE, i wasted my money and my time,,, can some one tell me how can i get my money back from DG sharif,, yesterday i given it back them for correction, but can some one help me getting my money back,.. plz help.. and DO NOTE GET THIS DEVICE , this is my precious advices to all of you.

Hi all.
I have had enough of this phone. Sorry Acer but after one year I'm sick of it. There are few main problems:
1. The phone no longer recognises the touch screen and it requires up to 10 reboots/resets/battery removals to get the screen to respond to either the stylus or finger. This problem came on very suddenly and is persistent.
2. I cannot update the Windows 6.1 software or use the update function. Now I know that this is probably a Windows issue - BUT the phone is an Acer and that is what I bought. I didn't buy Windows, I bought an Acer phone and it should be Acer who is responsible for the software it installs on it's phones.
3. When using the internet and viewing web pages you cannot read them as it tries to fit the entire page on the screen and there is no zoom in function to allow you to actually read anything on the page. Really poor.
The duel SIM function is good and useful but ulitmately the phone itself is let down because of the problems I mentioned above. I had called the Acer support line here in Singapore about the zoom function and they confirmed that zooming in far enough to allow you actually read a web page was not possible and that it was a common complaint.

Howdy all, I live in Dubai and I got mine from Sharaf DG recently (2/July/2010) two Sims, Video calling, 3G, Windows, ..etc for only AED 1099 which was awesome dude .. till I started using it! .. maaan it sucks!
I'd like to think of myself as a Mobile expert cuz I started using GSM mobiles 16 years ago .. and even before that I used older generations of mobile phones .. I have experience with Motorola, Ericsson, AlCatel, Sony, Panasonic, LG, Samsung, I-mate, I-phone, HTC .. u name it maaan I know them all .. but this DX 900 .. I’ve never seen such a horrible device! I knew about this phone when it got released and wanted to buy it then but I thought it was little expensive at that time .. .. I even kept reading its reviews and user feedback which most of them were baaad .. but thought that the guys turning it down cuz they are not familiar with the MS windows PDAs and I thought that I can fix this S*** ... so When Sharaf DG reduced the price to almost the half, I got me one and started working on it .. I tried all the options and features.. downloaded all the fixes and ROMs (cooked and RAW) for almost five days .. but Da** .. this phone just sucks! It freezes every few minutes which requires removing the battery and re-installing it back, Battery life is BS even with nothing but GSM active. Da** slow .. acts crazy .. some times people used to call me but the phone doesn’t ring or show any missed calls even though the caller was able to hear a ringing tone. The 3G sucks ... Video calling bad ... slow picture process ... man I just wasted five days of my precious time fixing and trouble shooting this device till I got fed up and decided to return the phone back.
I have to say: Thank you Sharaf DG for refunding my money, thumps up for the guys there.
My precious advice: DO NOT even think of buying this phone .. I repeat .. DO NOT!

My Opinion its a very good phone it has email check you can even install skype ant for free because skype can use wifi activesync or gprs :) but one but its a soft :( when i get this phone it was slow very glicthi and even frezze but after I installed another rom it works perfectly :) in my opinion if you like this style of phones or you want to try windows mobile buy it :)

The battery dies very quickly. Is it a problem with the or the battry? If it is a problem with the battery where can I get a good battery?

I installed SPB Phone Suite in my DX900 works very well. I installed SPB Time and it works very well. and the best is SPB Pocket Plus works very well as well. my advise is to install them in your card memory not on the phone... have fun.

This is not a good buy; I purchased this phone in December 2009, and it has been no ends of problems since. The most frequent is the issue of freezing, particularly when trying to answer a call.
DO NOT PURCHASE!!!
