I got the Android 4.4.2 Update from Acer today. Now it is available worldwide, in this version camera quality was better with software. Now the Interface is mostly light gray rather than the usual blue which you see on the battery, time etc.. Now even the it shows the name of the WiFi device you are connected. Now Acer Iconia A1-810 has received its update to Android 4.4.2, if you don't get the update check system updates manually or reset your Iconia A1 and you will see as soon reset is completed. You will get a system update notification when get connected to the internet. The file was 234mb in size. Hope all Acer users will now be happy use there Iconia A1-810. Here is a link to a screen shot before update http://tinypic.com/r/xds42b/8.
    and after Update

If you need any help ask me.
    Good luck,
    Ranul

Good looking tab, but it seems a little bit heavier than the other same category 8" tablet. The touchscreen of the demo product was too sensitive despite the fluidity.

Bought this for my parents whs are approaching 80 years of age, its great beacause it requires moderate touch, essy to navigate and operate. No matter how confused they might get it is super easy to return to main menu, and clear apps running in background. Front snd rear cameras, Kindle and Kobo apps run like a dream. I loaded it up with games, books, magazines, family photos, etc. Should keep them busy for ages, and less scary for older generation to use. Thanks for providing affordable tablet with classy screen and accessibility.

I'm sure that you can update to KitKat. As long as you have 1GB memory it's possible. On B1 you only have 512mb, that's why you can't update.

How about a tablet with the same design, Double CPU speed, Double GPU speed, Double memory, 4 times higher resolution retina display for only $199?

who is going to buy this tablet with so outdated specs when you can buy something like this (compare specs and benchmarks):

Tablets for 2014, Jelly Bean 4.2, Acer, you are surely having a laugh, guess my next tablet will be a Samsung Galaxy then !

Beware of these cheap Acer tablets... coming soon with the obsolete Android 4.2? It must be a JOKE. And Acer does NOT provide upgrades, I'm stuck with an Iconia B1 with the obsolete Android 4.1 since I got it.
