I use an X10 and have just upgraded to 2.3!
Look man i think its time for a change already for me!
Just saw the Specs of this Acer and I have already made up mind! If We get this down here in SOuth Africa I am going for it no questions asked!!!

Too bad the N900 died on you, what you think of the N9? I think Nokia made a mistake to not sell the N9 and use Meego as their OS of choice. Though Meego needs a name change and the N9 wont be coming to North America.
Lol X10 mini, well that is quite a difference. I don't know how you survive on that. my full size X10 is serving me, though I am tired of it. Plus I can't be bothered to put 2.3 on it or root it. Time for a change.

i think wen acer has delayed the relese thy could have up date it a better then s2
same spec missing tv connect &less gb bilt in
any way i buy one as it is like led and 4.8 screen

@Rob: I got an unexpected phonecall yesterday, comfirming that the phone will be available on the 8th of August (at least here in Europe). So here's some hope! And this time I'm really inclined to believe it to be true. I, too, had started to think the hanset will be cancelled...
I had as my primary phone the Nokia n900, which broke down some time back. Meanwhile I've been using Xperia x10 mini pro, my secondary handset, and waiting for a handset for my taste to become available (Iconia smart being my choice, obviously). The x10 mini is okay as a secondary phone to me, but the size of the display and bad zooming methods make me believe there won't be many people around, who'd fancy it as their sole phone...

Samsung despite their claim of not copying the iphone was to iphoney for me (icon style and I didn't like the 3 button mix layout. I would have to wait for the American carrier specific 4 capacitive button version.) HTC had me until the anntenna problem. And well dual-core isn't all that given Android battery life.
So I do hope they launch the phone sooner than later as I am looking at the Bionic as my next.
@Bagh I shall keep trying to get a response from Acer as I am tired of my X10.

I have been waiting for my order since April like everyone else. My order went from 6 days to 20 days and the website show that the USA is no longer available for it to be shipped. This is the sixth time it was pushed back. I told them to send a samsung Galaxy 2 instead. I guess Acer wasn't serious with getting in big with the cell phone industry. This can't have anything to do with Japan. Something is wrong in production which makes me doubt the quality.

Giving some more information as to the actual release date – or confirming the fact that the product is cancelled – wouldn’t do bad to Acer’s reputation in my eyes. I don’t find keeping potential customers “hanging” like this a good policy. The estimated time of the delivery for my order was just switched from 2 days to 15 yesterday, once again…

wow! phone. i really liked the fully loaded iconia features but i doubt about its hardware. Right now i'm using acer product(4820TG laptop) its hardware is too much delicate, after every 15-20 days i've to visit the the service centre. So hope this phone is physically sturdy.

I too am a potential c... moreI pre-ordered the same too from Expansys-France two months back and I have come to know through them that it should be launched today,i.e. on the 22nd of July but I won't be surprised if it's delayed any further, as it's been happening for the past two months or so.

I have had no response from their Twitter account. Maybe they are retooling it like the Bionic or they are canceling it altogether.
Well in any case, paitence is a virtue.
I will be replacing my Xperia X10.

@SRG: No, it’s not released. @ROB: “Rough” is the word to be stressed here, no need to mark the date anywhere – I ordered one from Expansys back in the beginning of April, when the supposed time of delivery was 15 days. Still haven’t got it, the date has been changed at least six or seven times, two of them within the last week or so… :(

it says that the phone is available but yet to be seen in the market. i looked everywhere and couldn't find it. the only place i did find it was this website and then again it's only for pre-order with no guarantee that the phone will be released at the given date. for those who might be interested in pre-ordering this phone:

Also i think this phone is way too expensive for what it's really worth. maybe that's just me but specs-wise it's not the best phone; really, it's not up to today's technology and at least for a phone this huge, the least we can expect is a battery that can last at least 10h i doubt that's gonna happen with a 1500mAh battery. I am just hoping that the delay of the release date is a tactic for Acer to better the device; which shouldn't be that hard with this huge phone. a good start would be to the ram and the processor AND of course the battery.
