Great tablet has all my needs but have to download either Doubletwist or WinAmp so the music won't stop playing in sleep mode, everyone else has same problem but isn't a problem just hope they will fix that in the next update though. Have been recommending iconia A500 to my friends.

Great tablet! Satisfied for its performance...highly recommend this ACER Iconia A500.

I've had my Acer A 500 for a week. It's really fast and works great. My 1 year old loves playing with the kids apps. The screen is tooth proof! I've connected a 1tb hard drive and ran videos off that device ( i needed a file manager app first) and it works very quickly to scan that drive. My only issue is not being able to make voip calls with the google voice app. My gmail contacts #'s are greyed out and when i say "call bob" or whoever it says the action is not supported on the device....What gives? Is this a hardware issue? Can anyone else make calls with google voice or go to hangouts on g+?

Is anyone having issues with google voice commands "calling" or "texting" people? Also i can't get google voice app to make calls only sms txts. Everything else works awesome.

DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP!!!. Irecently purchased a brand new one a week ago and decided to upgrade the os to honeycomb 3.2, big mistake. the following day I turned on my tablet and only the left half of the screen was shofing! the right half was just a bright white!. it stills responds to the touch but exactly 50percent of my touchscreen is blank white!!. I contacted acers website and so far nothing, no one has gotten back to me. Im currently in the process of trying to downgrade it to see if its a Driver problem. I cant root it because honeycomb 3.2 doesnt allow rooting as yet. Im very upset because of the way acer is ignoring me, I cant recover the software or anything. all my hopes are on downgrading this junk!!. Im never buying acer brand again because if anything goes wrong, you are out in the cold alone.!!!

M, 05 Nov 2011can you tether the A500 to a droid phone via bluetooth (not... moreYes. I have successfully tethered my HTC Wildfire A330 with this tablet via bluetooth. It's slower much slower than I would like so I normally use the hotspot. It's bluetooth so I am sure you weren't expecting lightning fast anyway. It's good enough to check GMail and my electric bill while I'm on the road.

can you tether the A500 to a droid phone via bluetooth (not using the mobile hot spot on the phone, just bluetooth) like you can with a xoom or galaxy tab?

Mine arrived a couple of days ago.
It does exactly what I wanted,its a portable media player in every format I need.I spend weekends away umpiring at events,with this device I can watch videos,take pics of the event,listen to my music etc.Its brilliant,the picture is fantastic.
