sarah, 22 Jun 2010acer liquid or htc legend? I have the Acer Liquit. Nice try of Acer. great phone however design is not so good. Switching of means changing ringer volume. Grabbing while on means volume change and camera on. Switching on/off not so handy. Ending a phone call can only be done on the touch screen which is off by that time. Using bluetooth earphone keeps phone on. You start dialing 911 from yot pocket. Get a phone with hardware buttons like an htc or the latest Acer.

Hello,
Nice phone, very versatile. But it does not come without some problems: very low battery life: 1 day the most. And... DO NOT break the LCD display. It will set you back almost the cost of the phone new (270€ only for the screen). If someone found a cheaper one please advise. Best of luck.

I've had the phone for about a day now. I fully charged it up before i used it, and most of the time when i have it turned on it says i need to connect the battery cable because the display settings is using 48% of it, or the Android system is using 50+%.
So i plug in the cable, leave it for a couple of hours and it still says the same thing.
If anyone can help me out or if anyone else is having the same problem i would really like to know.

Good value for high specs phone. Been running the 2.1 leaked ROM for a couple of weeks now on my A1 and it's very stable. A few minor issues, but that can exist even in official released ROMs. Just hope to get Froyo 2.2 soon now.

Imho Liquid is a very good phone relating his price, I have it from December and I'm quite satisfied, acer hasn't a good interface like sense and it hasn't the construction quality of iPhone but with this device you can have a proper android experience, with a big display and a good CPU, waiting for 2.1 !

I've had mine for about 3 weeks now, running latest official 1.6 ROM (hopefully official 2.1 Eclair upgrade soon). A few thoughts:
256 MB ram is not an issue since I don't run too many memory hogging apps at the same time. Android is smart about swapping out physical RAM anyway when things get tight, it's only an issue probably when playing games or using apps that require the whole 256 or more chunk of memory.
The top LED notifications is actually not as practical as LED lights on the screen face. Imagine setting the phone face up on the table in front of you, you have to place the phone 'up-side-down' orientation to see the top bar LEDs, then when you pick it up to use, you have to rotate it in your hand.
Feels about the same as when I used a MyTouch 3G (HTC Magic) a few months ago. I thought I wouldn't like the white glossy plastic, but after a while it's grown on me. It has a 'futuristic' feel. My battery cover is a bit looser, and creaks after a few "hard prying" openings & closings. So just be gentle, not a good phone if you plan to swap SIM cards often.
The side buttons takes a bit getting used to since they're flush and in awkward positions. But I'm used to them now.
Also lack of a cursor trackball/button makes placing exact cursor in edit mode a bit harder.
My battery use (no EDGE/3G data plan, GPS & Bluetooth off, only wi-fi use occasionally). Lasts about 4 days (turned off when I sleep too).
Even after all these minor issues, it's still worth getting because you get so much for the relatively cheap price compared to anything on the market and in the immediate future.

Never disappoint me....
I bought the phone for a month.
Test and compare with iphone :
1) Youtube video quality Better(Android can watch in high quality which iphone and others not at this moment)
2) surfing speed comparable.
3) Application...so far happy with free application from many website.
4) Only lag, same as iphone, cannot bluetooth to device. [ SE X10 Android v1.6 can support BT to device ]

Hello to all of you. I am using Acer Liquid past one month. This phone is pretty cool. Its screen resolution, speed, 3G speed and accessability is really excellent. I have used Nokia N97, samsung Omnia HD and I phone also. this responsiveness to screen touch with acer liquid is far excellent. Although the battery doesnt last much just one day, but you dont expect much from such a feature rich phone.
You have lots of application available to customize your phone. it becomes mini computer.
Only thing which i though it would make it king is secondary camera for video call. however very few androids have secondary camera... so it makes all even.
May be some companies comes with wireless camera which can be used with these androids phone to make video call... that would be awsome.
I am really looking forward for such wireless camera.. :)
