confirmer, 19 Aug 2015I just received my idol 3 (4.7'', dual sim, 16 gb) and unfo... moreOnly the single-sim version has MicroSD card slot. Same goes with (5.5). Dual-sim versions have larger internal memory, however. But both slots are used for sim card.

*My comparison to Moto G 2015 *8gb, 1gb ram version) for same price*
I bought the 16gb version with 1.5gb RAM through Alcatel-via Amazon Prime. This is a great phone. I had the 5.5" version, but had to return it because of terrible software lag. Since then, Alcatel has upgraded the software and it works great, especially the tap twice to wake/lock screen, even with a 3rd party launcher (which I recommend). Love the 4.7" screen size and thin profile 7.6mm. Front facing JBL speakers are amazing. I got this on the heels of buying a new Moto G 2015, 8gb 1gb of Ram, for the same price, but have set it aside as a spare. Compared to the Moto G 2015 8gb version for $180, you don't get IPX7 water resistance, or as good a camera, but you do get NFC, sim card, great audio and (IMHO) snappy performance. This is a great phone for the price. On AT&T in US with 4GLTE.

The battery is not bad at all. I'm using an IPhone 5S and the LG in paralel so I can confirm that the battery is better than these last two. The phone is charging in 1:40 min which is more than both, the iPhone and the LG, but not by a lot (20 min). It doesn't heat. Not more than the iPhone and that is when plugged in the car charger and using navigation and streaming over Bluetooth. The Bluetooth connection seems to be better than the one on the LG. My smartwatch used to die after 9 hours, being connected with the LG. Now, after 12 hours, I haven't dropped one line on the watch battery. There's no lag what so ever when using the phone. It never crashed. I see some frame drop when using Tinder, Facebook or Google plus. I believe these applications need a really strong GPU (not a high ram, which Android manufacturers still seem to not understand). With intense usage my ram doesn't claimb above 1Gb.... which shows that Android lollipop isn't that bad. Whatever manufacturers are doing is actually wrong... Call quality over the speaker is indeed, not the loudest, but ok. It could be a little louder, true. Now, the major problem I'm having (I'm on ATT, but I don't think it matters) it's the call drop. It dropped my calls about 4 times in a conversation, yesterday. T
Nothing today, in the same area. It gets even worst when out of a sudden, from dull full signal it drops to none. Sometimes it shows that I have no network but I can surf the Web(that's weird) sometimes I don't have network and therefore, can't place a call, but guess what: I can use the Web through data...!!??? I really hope that this is a software issue and not a hardware one. As for the build quality... get a screen protector and a case. The plastic the phone it's made its really... meah... Mine already came with the silver strip bended. I would compare the plastic with the one on the Moto X 2013 (back) Extremely soft... I think it was designed like this because it's very light. Overall the phone could be really a winner with small tweaks. Really makes you question why would you pay 500+ for phone. Speaking of which, I've played today with the new Note Edge and it crashed within minutes... My Alcatel didn't since I've got it(3 days)
