I have this phone a few months now, and I am very happy with my purchase, I have previously purchased Alcatel phones as they are one of the leading budget phones available in Ireland from opinion based on price/performance ratio,
Pros and cons of this phone below;
Pros:
1.Power saver mode which only uses 4 CPUs out of 8 and uses 1Ghz speed, and also stops background apps etc,
2.
Powerful 8 core CPU,
This CPU can handle and operations at once without any lag, in the rare occasions where I have had 20 recent tabs or so open it can become a bit sluggish, but once you clear the recent apps and maintain this phone once a month by removing built up cache it will give you no problems at all,
3.
16GB ROM Internal stroage available 11GBs roughly after purchasing, This phone holds 70 apps including the ones installed on it previously, and it runs without delay, it can also house a micro SD card with up to 256GB storage, I have 32GB storage on mine and I am also able to transfer 25% of my apps onto the SD card, the apps this works fast on the SD card, though I would suggest not to transfer any high end games like need for speed,
4. Good battery life,
With near to 3000mah battery this phone can last a good day with a full charge, do that's about 14 hours on an above average days usage, 18 hours on an average, 24 hours on a low usage, 36hours on low usage without Data switched on,
5. Plenty RAM for high end tasks and high end games,
Coupled with 2GBs RAM this phone can play Need for speed most wanted without lag, Fallout shelter, Dirt, and it can run autodesk decently.

Amazing speakers!!!!
These Dual JBL front facing speaker are better then my friends Beats audio laptop speakers! They are ridiculously loud at max volume, and have brilliant bass tones, very good clarity, these speakers should be on a flagship phone sold for 400 not 180 Euro!.
7. Brilliant camera!
With a 13 mega pixels rear camera and flash and many good features, you'll get beautiful shots front facing or rear I can't fault this its as good as the iPhone 5s camera.
8. Brilliant screen and overall a beautiful looking plastic phone, which is very hard to do. But they did it so well.
9. Reverable screen is just a really cool feature that is original as far as I know!.
I'd like to thanks Alcatel for making one of the best flagship budget phones to have ever been released in the price ranged or 150-250 euro! Thank you guys!

Got one for 579aed from uae.souq and i think its a nice pick for that price..
Overall its a nice phone..!!
Jbl stereo, 32gigs,duel sim,2gb ram,built quality is good,reversible,sony exmor camera, 1yr warranty and no heating on moderate usage..
On the other hand....its lags little bit...only little..when playing high end games and running too many apps in background...
If u r on budjet....i suggest this phone...go for it!!

Install viperatmos on lollipop version, u will get the most amazing audio quality! Not marshmallow.

Got one for $99 from amazon and love the phone. Very light, thin, SD card, Marshmallow 6.0.1, NFC...no complaint...

Just love the phone,Alcatel idol 3 nothing wrong with it,just love it so much,I have the iPhone 6S plus but I play with this phone more,probably its not that heavy and perfect for one hand use.

I have had 3 of these now, the original and two warranty replacement devices I keep having issues. My first one stopped powering on after 3 months. Three months later my second phone would not charge anymore, and now my third one will not connect to the cellular network, the screen goes blue, and it powers off every 10 minutes or so. I take good care of my phones. They are always kept in a case with a screen protector and have no physical or liquid damage. It appears Alcatel has major quality control issues with their phones. I will never buy from them again. Do yourself a favor and avoid this phone.

Best phone yet for the price; Not sure about complaints from others but mine is working exceptionally well and the phone upgraded to marshmallow during setup. It is working as expected - Screen, speakers, battery are good with some lag occasionally but that is expected as it is not a game phone.

I've had the idol for about 3 or 4 months. Here's what I think. Picture quality is great. Dual speakers are good. Every once and a while I get some distortion, but no big deal. Good things about the phone:
Has swap function that allows phone to be used normally whether it's rightside up or upside down.
Double tap power opens camera. Very cool.
Camera top right corner placement is nice.
Wide angle 8mp front camera is fantastic for selfies.
DJ mix software installed fun to play with.
Gps works great and very little lag.
Bad things about phone:
Camera app will occasionally crash or not open, especially after marshmallow upgrade.
SD card read issues. Phone would crash when trying to save photos straight to card.
The phone is not very business friendly. Email is tricky. The default email app is junk. I'm still working on finding an aftermarket one I like. Multiple issues with group messaging. It takes a very long time to download images from groups. Constant text send failures to groups. Multitasking is ok, but lacking.
Overall I enjoy the phone. I think the user interface could be better and besides the business use stuff, it's well worth the price. Its a great phone for media but subpar for anything else.

I got the idol 4 and....yep!i camed back to idol 3!it's 1.5 years old but still have life in it....for me is better than the idol4(non s)much much better

This phone is garbage. Even for the price, it's still garbage. I probably could've paid less for an equal piece of garbage.
1. Overheats very easily. I've had to try a few different apps to fix this. None of them work.
2. Both cameras have sub-par quality.
3. Processor is very slow.
4. My biggest complaint is the phone just restarts whenever it wants to. Not while it's overheating. Not when I have too many apps open. Just restarts at any random time.
