alcatel Idol 4

I dropped my IDOL 4 and the screen cracked... not a lot, just 3 lines at the bottom of the glass. Does anyone know what I have to fix, if its only the glass digitizer? According to a shady technician, I have to buy the whole screen (which includes the glass digitizer and LCD) because the IDOl 4 has it merged. Is that true?

These is by far the best phone i have ever owned, it works for all my needs. Emails ✓ phone calls✓ Slacker Radio ✓ Social Media ✓ Notes ✓ All the things i need it to do ✓ AWESOME PHONE ALL THE WAY
I have an iphone 5S for work and that thing is not good the screen is so small they are certainly not meant for big hands just saying

Best phone i ever had,so sleet n sexy,works like a charm,mine is the 6055k n no single issue,screen is better dan the iphone 8 with 424ppi and iphone 8 326ppi,no lags,no hotness, speaker is sick i can play song all night long,battery very o.k,i play games on my ipad mini 4,so i dont uae my phone 4 games,this phone is just too sweet,i cant stop imagining what idol 5s will feel like,everyone around loves it so much,n the swag in it is a killer,u will never find in other highend phones,stop using it like a laptop n u il enjoy it alot,i think the cricket version is the problematic one,mine has no carrier so so issues..........

My Cell phone idol4 is resetting (factory data reset) automatically on 28th of every month.
I had this problem in Sep-2017 and now in Oct-2017 as well.
Can any buddy tell me how can i fix this issue.

Anonymous, 02 Sep 2017The speakers are probably blown out and not as functional. ... moreHad similar effect, especially with ring/alarm tones became low and not as they should sound. I discovered the AUTO profile was active with Waves MaxAudio and simply disabling it brought back everything to the desired conditions :)

Uninstall/disable apps that you don't use. Am using one for almost a year and it is just decent with the battery consumption.

However you had many options such as factory warranty. The idol 4 is a powerhouse device. I the right hands. I would suggest a less complex phone for you in the future. Maybe something like an amp 2

If you are on the market for a phone, steer clear of the Alcatel Idol 4. I've only had this phone for four months and it was the biggest disappointment I've had with technology. First off, the thing started black screen glitching on it's first day in my possession. I took it in to the same Cricket store within an hour of starting it up and the people who "helped" me made a complete 180° in customer service and refused to do anything for me. I've been back three times and each time they just pick it up, take the SIM card out and say it's fine. During one of these visits the salesman actually dropped the phone, chipping it as well as the SIM card. Now it overheats within five minutes of plugging in, it turns itself off, I can't get my apps to stay up without glitching. When I try to answer a call the thing glitches and hangs up on my caller. When I'm texting it glitches and I lose the text. Don't even get me started with trying to use Facebook or messenger. This phone has actually Frozen and I have to completely turn it off like a laptop.
This technology is flawed and programmed by an idiot. I'm going to ensure as many people as possible know to stay away from this phone.

My alcatel idol 4 no longer switches to my wi-fi while I'm home. I try everything. I turn off the wi-fi, turn it back on and try. I try entering the network password. Sometimes it'll hook up with my wi-fi, but usually just for 2-3 seconds. I'm forced to use my data while at home. And the battery doesn't hold much of a charge.

Josh, 26 Jul 2017My wife and I both have this phone and have had them for ab... moreHaving what seems to be Bluetooth problems with my Idol 4 as well. Cricket is useless. Alcatel's solution is send to the service depot in Texas.
Specially I cannot do hands-free calling with my new Chevy Cruze. GM has been all over the problem but finds no reason it should not work and indeed I can get it to work with other phones. I've filed complaints with BBB, my state's AG office, and written to Cricket HQ. Let's see if they care after the sale.
As a carrier I have no problem with Cricket But their retail outlets and their hardware and their support SUCK.

I had this phone for more than a year now and besides 2 security updates there's nothing... there's no update (till today) for the Android 7.0 and at this time i just assume that it ain't be update. It's the last Alcatel i bought...
