Servicing is a problem here!I agree with u all.... In suburbs its impossible.even in some cities.so go for it if u r a faitly careful user.

Tried to contact one service center in Chennai(Velachery) and unfortunately they are no more servicing the newer models (Idol Series) phones and redirected me to other service center whicbh is in Egmore.
So think thrice before you BUY !!

Their answer:bringbit to the center.we can replace it.but will take a month or two,and the cost is 13000.so i agree with u.but the display pannel of any other FHD phones costes the same.but 2 month is un acceptable for sure.They say they want to import the pannel.so if u r living in a metro city then 'its possiblr' but i prefer keeping it carefully! :-)

A china phone?No proper service centers? Yeah sure,It is!
I got this phone before a week and have been using it since then.so Kindly read my review before u take a decision.
Here is the detailed review of the phone.
1)Desing and Form factor:-
Its not the best looking phone but it does have a premium look.Sleek and light weight it is.Easy to Hold and use in one hand.The metal rim around the phone's side gives it a premium look.Its a unibody design.so backcover is non removable. So swapping battery is not possible. And it does not have a micro SD slot.so u should go with the inbuilt 16gb(12.7gb available for user).The screen is protected by gorilla glass 2.scratch resistant but not for drops from sholder height.
2)Display:Its a 1080p display.Thr display is vibrant with bright colours.viewing angles are wide.sunlight legibility is not atall a problem.The olephobic coating keeps finger print smudges for a certain extent.
The touch is great in any condition.its almost instant.
3)Sound and headset:The quality of the headset is great(JBL).The speaker output is good if no great.its crisp and clear.
4)Camera:The camera performance is above average,cant expect more at this price range.Video plwyback is excellent.Really enjoyable. Can record 1080p videos.
5)performance: Only a few words about it.Guess what???? Awesome!!!! 2Ghz octacore+2GB ram is heaven.Multi tasking is a cake walk.
6)Benchmark score were very impressive:

Quadrant 19400
Vellamo 2000+
Metal 750+
No compromise in performance!
It comes with a boomband and a JBL headset.
Boom ban is a fittness wearable. Which also notifies u!(not a smart watch)
Battery:2500mah battery does not sound great for a full HD 5 incher but easily lasts for 12hrs for heavy use!Again the battery is non user removable so think about it if its a deal breaker for u.
Conclusion just go for it..

guys.. i am planning to buy alcatel one touch idol x+ .. please let me know about heating issues... if any body using this mobile please give ur feed back... this has 2ghz octacore even canvas knight too.. but canvas has reduced to 1.7ghz coz of heating issue.. please suggest me guys.. really confused between idol x+ , canvas knight

The actual reality is micromax/karbann/alcatel/geonee all have got common service centers. and all the customer care number are all fake non of them are accessible.
####Really Shame Less Approach to sell their product in this way####

They have apologized for the inconvenience and written to me that their pune office / Service Center will keep in touch but there is no response from them till today. Its almost a week now.

Couple of centers were closed permanently in Pune, others were not responding. Even there is no one to attend the call in their Pune office. really a bad show. It will be difficult for you to get the service guys if the phone goes out of order.

Seems to be fine overall for the value, Anyone tried to upgrade to 4.4? Is it even possible. Also unable to get a skin and cover for this in india. Any inputs?
